We're looking for a passionate and analytically minded professional to join the Strategic Finance organization. This individual will sit at the intersection of Finance & Data Analytics. You will have a unique opportunity to work as a business partner to our Engineering teams with a focus on Cloud spend as well as the scope to work cross-functionally to build our data modeling and reporting foundation for many aspects of our Technology spend. Strategic Finance is responsible for owning the company’s budget and financial planning processes, performing financial analyses across the company, providing financial guidance for business partners to effectively invest, maximizing impact of spend in our largest cost centers and investing strategically to accelerate our business. The ideal candidate will not only have the financial modeling and SQL skills to support the Technology Finance team, but also strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Own the 3-5 financial models related to Affirm’s cloud spend, with a large focus on AWS cost and being a key player in driving forward the momentum of Affirm’s FinOps journey
  • Ownership over month-end close, monthly re-forecast and annual Budget process over the Affirm’s engineering vendor spend
  • Innovate our forecasting process to develop more efficient and accurate financial models using the latest technologies and tools
  • Partner cross functionally across engineering, technology finance, corporate finance, accounting, and analytics to transform scattered datasets into digestible data models to create a foundation for operational & financial analytics for the Technology Finance team
  • Develop & maintain Finance dashboards, reports, and visualizations to deliver standardized reporting and actionable insights to Technology leadership
  • Provide Finance leadership with detailed understanding of both short and long term risks and opportunities for the Technology organization

What we look for

  • 2+ years experience in fast-paced analytical roles (strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, data science, analytics, etc.)
  • Strong financial modeling skills, experience with Cloud financial management a plus
  • Experience and proficiency in SQL required. Python or other coding languages a plus
  • Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity and an ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment
  • Excellent communicators who seek out the opportunity - and accountability - that comes with being front and center with company executives
  • High attention to detail but an equally important ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses with strategic business context
  • Prior experience with financial planning tools such as Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan, or Adaptive required
  • Solid understanding of managerial accounting a plus
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics or related field

Base Pay Grade - I
Equity Grade - 4
Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000 - $155,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $142,000

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.
