Sr UX Designer

The Senior Graphic Designer will spearhead the development of innovative and impactful visual content for SNC. This role involves leading the design team, managing complex projects, and ensuring the highest standards of visual communication across all media.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process — research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual design — for web, mobile, and command-line (CLI) applications.
• Develop and drive design strategy and information architecture across the product suite.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define project goals and deliverables.
• Ensure interfaces adhere to brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and platform-specific conventions (web, mobile, CLI).
• Review and critique design work to ensure consistency and quality.
• Lead and manage a team of designers, providing mentorship and professional development.
• Manage multiple high-impact projects and ensure on-time delivery f design assets and specs to engineering.
• Represent the design team in strategic meetings and presentations.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate and improve design decisions.
• Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library shared across web, mobile, and CLI surfaces.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in graphic design or related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required. 
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. 
• Extensive experience with graphics design application programs and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced Skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Software, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.
• Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-level design projects and innovation.
• Proven experience designing user interfaces and experiences for software applications — portfolio must demonstrate UX/UI work (flows, wireframes, prototypes), not solely graphic/print design.
• Proficiency with UX/UI design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and translating findings into design decisions.
• Working knowledge of responsive/adaptive design principles and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• This position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with software application programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Wordpress tools, and Google Apps
• Exposure to web and print design, video/audio editing, 2D animation.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
• Experience designing for command-line/terminal (CLI/TUI) interfaces or developer tools.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries (e.g., in Figma) used across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, React) sufficient to collaborate closely with engineers on implementation.
• Experience designing for desktop applications (e.g., Electron) in addition to web and mobile.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Regular use of hand/finger dexterity for designing and typing.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
