Position Purpose: The Sr. Test Engineer has the responsibility of supporting test engineering tasks associated with the development, qualification, and acceptance testing efforts of components and/or spacecraft systems. This engineer would be working in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in test and support of flight spacecraft electronics. This engineer would be interacting directly with flight hardware electronics in a lab environment. Development work will span test procedure development, writing and reviewing other’s automated test scripts, test equipment design, and executing tests using aerospace standard approaches. Other responsibilities may include data review and sign off, as well as mentorship and training to peers. This engineer has vast experience with test engineering best practices and applies those to testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and new development.

Pay Range: $108,000 - $165,000

On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced team environment
- Lead the integration and test of components and/or spacecraft systems
- Write, review, update, and implement test procedures
- Execute, develop, modify, and review test scripts
- Maintain required test engineering logs and records
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule (with possible support on nights & weekends)
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, as well as other departments at the company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Use various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to support complex testing, verification and validation, and troubleshooting of components and/or systems
- Prepare complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to demonstrate compliance to system requirements.
- Read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques
- Provide mentorship and guidance for team. May assist in training new team members.
- May function as a recognized technical leader on a project or product.
- May be asked to participate in Data Review process to include EIDP creation if required
- May be asked to assist with prioritization of work out to team.
- May include personnel management responsibilities

Required Qualifications/Education:
- Experience with hardware testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters and logic analyzers
- Experience with writing and executing manual and/or automated test procedures
- Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Ruby (COSMOS), and/or Python or similar
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to be a self-starter
- Experience with component and/or spacecraft level system integration and test
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated proficiency of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in Test Engineering or a related field
- Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
Desired Experience:
- Experience with electric motor design and test
- Experience with embedded software
- Experience with environmental testing: Thermal, TVAC, Vibration, Shock, EMI
- Experience with radiation testing of electrical components (TID, SEE, etc.)
- Knowledge of control systems and orbital mechanics
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
