Our Wealth Enhancement Tax & Consulting Services (WETCS) Team is looking for a highly experienced Sr. Tax Advisor. This tax professional will be accountable for delivering high-quality tax advice, planning, and return preparation services to assigned WETCS clients and ensure high client and Wealth Enhancement Financial Advisor satisfaction through this role’s work and interactions. Collaborates with other WETCS and Wealth Enhancement employees to improve individual and team expertise, effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction, and helps enhance the WETCS and Wealth Enhancement brands via high quality work output and professional, responsive, and respectful interactions with clients, WEG employees, and professional communities. This role offers the remote work option, as well as excellent career growth potential.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $135,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. This role is also eligible for our corporate bonus.
Primary Job Functions
1.Tax Advisory, Planning and Preparation (~85%)
a.Prepare and review tax returns, including related work documents for Individuals and one or more of these categories: Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Trusts, Estates, Foundations, and Foreign Reporting.
b.Prepare tax strategies and projections.
c.Provide tax planning advice to clients and their WEG Financial Advisors.
d.Conduct tax research and planning, including but not limited to BNA projections, special research projects, and retirement account recommendations.
e.Review and respond to tax notices.
f.Respond State and Federal Auditors inquiries and work to resolve them.
g.Amend tax returns.
2.Help Drive Effectiveness, Productivity and Revenue Increases (~2%)
a.Help identify opportunities to increase value delivered to clients and revenue for WETCS and Financial Advisor teams while working with clients.
b.When appropriate, promote WETCS services offerings to assigned tax clients.
c.Ensure that urgent or high impact issues affecting assigned clients are quickly resolved.
3.Foster Teamwork (~5%)
a.Build and maintain good relationships with WETCS staff, Financial Advisors, and clients.
b.Collaborate with and support team members to improve team effectiveness.
c.Share tax expertise and assist team members as appropriate.
d.Contribute to maintaining a positive and fun team culture.
4.Tax expertise and Professional Growth (~8%)
a.Maintain expertise in all aspects of tax compliance.
b.Maintain fluency in tax related software, tools and procedures used at WETCS.
c.Grow your tax expertise in at least one area of tax each year through continuing professional education and individual learning.
d.Stay informed about current trends in tax and the tax services industry.
e.Answer tax related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Financial Advisor Teams and other Wealth Enhancement employees.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Finance or Business; BS in Accounting preferred.
CPA, EA, or JD required.
Experience & SkillsoMinimum of 10 years of tax accounting experience.
Minimum of 6 years experience preparing high net worth individual tax returns (1040).
Minimum of 3 years experience preparing at least two of the following types of tax returns: Trust, Estate, S Corp, Partnerships, LLC, Private Foundation.
Experienced in complex tax planning and consulting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent financial acuity.
Proficiency in Excel, CCH Axcess / ProSystems

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as the Career level is $95,300.00 to $152,500.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
