Job Description SummaryOperationalizes the Data Product Marketplace and enterprise catalog for Defense & Systems. The role manages, facilitates, and monitors the flow of data products from intake through to being consumable in the fabric: onboarding and certification intake, the catalog and discovery experience, self-service access workflows, and the adoption metrics that show whether any of it is working.
Standards come from the Principal Data Architect in the form of data-product contracts, schemas, and SLAs; policy comes from the Sr Principal Technical Product Manager. This role executes within both and owns the day-to-day consumer experience. Success improves Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by shortening the path from a data product request to a governed, usable data product.

Job DescriptionWhy this role

The Data Fabric only matters if people use it, and that is what this role owns: the front door, the onboarding path, and the evidence of adoption. You will work directly with data product owners across Defense & Systems, run the intake process that moves products into the fabric, and hold the consumer experience to a standard. This is hands-on product management on a platform being built now, not caretaking of one already built.

Marketplace and catalog ownership
  • Own the marketplace and catalog feature backlog: search and discovery experience, data-product previews, and self-service access workflows
  • Prioritize and sequence the backlog against adoption impact and the enterprise roadmap set by the Sr Principal Technical Product Manager
  • Maintain catalog completeness and data passport currency as products are published, enhanced, and deprecated
Data product onboarding and certification
  • Manage data-product onboarding and certification intake, working the checklist and action plan alongside Data Product Owners
  • Define product specifications with owners: SLAs, uptime targets, health scores, and critical data elements
  • Partner with the Principal Data Architect to return certification and onboarding decisions within the defined SLA
  • Confirm the design and integration pattern for each data product is agreed before integration work is planned and scheduled
Consumer experience and adoption
  • Run user research and journey mapping with data consumers to find and remove adoption friction
  • Track and report adoption and usage metrics: active users, adoption rate, time-to-access, and catalog completeness
  • Report adoption results to the Sr Principal Technical Product Manager for value-realization reporting to the executive sponsor
Stakeholder engagement
  • Manage data-product owners across multiple P&Ls without formal authority, using clear intake criteria and transparent prioritization
  • Coordinate with federated Data Quality Analysts on specification validation and SLA fit by domain
  • Brief P&L Data Stewards and Solution Architects ahead of process or standard changes
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR Associate's degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Data Product Management & Data Marketplace Operations or IT.
  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.
Eligibility requirement
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
Desired characteristics
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business (STEM or technical major preferred).
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager certification.
  • Experience with data quality or data-product SLA and health-score frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of data cataloging and self-service access tooling.
  • Working knowledge of APIs and self-service data access patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to run onboarding and intake processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Analytical skill to define, instrument, and track adoption and usage metrics.
  • Comfort operating within standards set by the Principal Data Architect and Sr Principal Technical Product Manager rather than authoring them.
  • Defense, aerospace, or other regulated-industry background.
