About the RoleThe Sr. Manager, IT Systems Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure and network systems. This role involves managing a team of technical systems administrators and network engineers, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical systems administrators and network engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.

  • Ensure the effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks and related equipment.

  • Plan, execute, and manage IT infrastructure and network projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

  •  Monitor system and network performance and reliability, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact operations.

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT systems, networks, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure and manage IT resources and services.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, network configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system and network performance, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Ensure IT systems and networks comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure and network engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Proficiency in network engineering and administration.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, ITIL, PMP, CCNA, CCNP,

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure and network projects, with a track record of successful project delivery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.

  • Current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure and network systems.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Drive for innovation and continuous improvement in IT systems and processes.

Compensation:

Pay Range: 

$158,785 - $218,350

 

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.  

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
