About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking an Sr. Engineering Manager to join our Vulnerability Management Team within Exposure Management.
This role will lead our Network Vulnerability Detection team, focusing on helping customers fingerprint, identify, and assess network devices through advanced detection techniques and methodologies.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, product management, and security researchers to drive detection capabilities while building team culture and managing direct reports.
What You Will Do:
Drive Network Vulnerability Detection. Lead development of detection capabilities that help customers identify and assess network infrastructure vulnerabilities through fingerprinting techniques and detection pipelines while setting technical vision and roadmap.
Research Emerging Threats. Monitor and analyze vulnerability disclosures from major vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco), translating research into actionable detection capabilities that protect customers from emerging risks.
Build and Lead a Global Team. Manage a distributed team of vulnerability detection engineers and technical leads, fostering collaborative culture while coordinating across time zones to deliver high-quality detection content.
Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with product management and engineering teams to align detection capabilities with customer needs, directly influencing CrowdStrike's Exposure Management platform evolution and organizational strategy.
Ensure Quality and Accuracy. Own validation processes for vulnerability detections, implementing automated workflows that maintain CrowdStrike's high standards for security solutions.
What You’ll Need:
8+ years in cybersecurity or vulnerability management
5+ years management experience with proven ability to lead technical teams
Hands-on technical leadership with vulnerability detection techniques and network security
Excellent communication skills for executive and technical audiences
Agile/Scrum methodology experience with ability to scale processes
Programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages
Bonus Points:
Network device fingerprinting and assessment experience
Vulnerability management product development background
Security detection pipeline design and implementation
Remote/distributed multi-team leadership experience
Understanding of CVE analysis, CVSS scoring, and risk-based prioritization
Experience with organizational scaling and process optimization
GenAI/Agentic AI automation experience for vulnerability detection, threat analysis, or security workflow optimization
Thought leadership experience in Exposure Management or Vulnerability Risk Management through publications, speaking engagements, or industry contributions
