DaVita is a healthcare company committed to an unwavering pursuit of a healthier tomorrow for our patients, teammates, and physician partners. As a leader in kidney care, we have a unique opportunity to redefine care delivery for over 250,000 patients — while shaping the future of value-based care.

The Senior Director of Operations Innovation will be a key enterprise leader responsible for designing, incubating, and scaling strategic initiatives that transform DaVita’s operating model. This role leads high-impact programs focused on delivering exceptional clinical outcomes, improving teammate experience, and achieving operational excellence — with a strong emphasis on innovation, technology adoption, and cross-functional alignment.

This leader will build and lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, and collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and technical executives to shape the direction of our care delivery model. The role will regularly interface with DaVita’s C-suite and Board-level stakeholders and is instrumental in delivering the company’s transformation agenda.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead DaVita’s enterprise transformation roadmap with a focus on clinical quality, operational efficiency, and digital enablement.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership and partner closely with the C-suite to shape long-term transformation efforts.
  • Build, coach, and manage a high-performing team of professionals across innovation, operations, clinical improvement, and digital strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives including:
    • Redesign of care delivery models across hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
    • Identification and incubation of emerging technologies including AI/ML, workflow automation, and telehealth platforms
    • Enterprise process reengineering to streamline operations and reduce waste
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to co-create and implement scalable pilots with measurable KPIs.
  • Drive end-to-end change management including org design, workforce training, and cultural transformation.
  • Develop compelling executive-level communications and presentations for leadership forums.
  • Track and report on performance metrics tied to financial outcomes, patient outcomes, and teammate experience.
  • Represent the organization in external partnerships, innovation forums, and industry think tanks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a strategy, transformation, or operations leadership role in healthcare or a similarly complex industry
  • Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide change, including multi-site and matrixed implementations
  • Proven ability to influence and build consensus at the executive level, including Board presentations
  • Deep understanding of process improvement, clinical operations, and technology integration
  • Experience leading large cross-functional teams, including direct and indirect reports
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MPH, MHA, or similar graduate degree preferred
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or PROSCI change management certification preferred
  • Prior experience with digital health, AI/ML implementation, or workflow automation is a plus
