JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Database Administrator will manage enterprise level database systems that are highly available, performant, secure, and scalable as well as collaborate with a cross-functional infrastructure team leading to repeatable and successful outcomes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination.
Define and enforce technical standards and database best practices across the organization.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data privacy regulations, and security standards across database platforms.
Facilitate knowledge transfer and training sessions for relevant personnel.
Forge strong relationships with Application Development teams to improve the reliability of databases and integration platforms supporting critical applications.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
Oversee the execution of database migration tasks, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
Proactively identify opportunities for database optimization, automation, and innovation.
Conduct performance testing and benchmarking to validate the effectiveness of optimization efforts.
Tune database configurations, explore query optimization, and define indexing strategies to improve performance and scalability.
Install, configure, and deploy clustered and standalone Cloud-hosted database systems.
Manage SQL Server databases through multiple lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Design, deploy, and maintain all database backup and maintenance plans and processes.
Ensure 24X7 availability of Cloud-hosted, critical database systems.
Maintain and improve Service Levels and keep up with department goals for problem resolution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
10+ Years of experience and advanced proficiency in the following technologies required:
MSFT SQL Server
Windows Failover Cluster
SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances
SQL Server Availability Groups
Amazon EC2 and RDS for SQL Server
Azure Virtual Machines and SQL Database
Azure MySQL Flexible Server
PowerShell for administrative tasks
Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience
Intermediate proficiency in Cloud storage options
Intermediate proficiency in Cloud networking architecture
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
