The Sr. Analyst role involves leading HR data analyses, building analytical capabilities, designing reports, and educating stakeholders on data tools.

Position Purpose:
To take a lead consultative role with internal HR clients to identify strategic information needs, conduct data and process analyses, provide actionable recommendations, and to manage and execute analytical projects that support the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analyses, typically of moderate to high complexity, of Home Depot's HR, Payroll and related business data and processes with emphasis on identifying trends, determining root cause of problems and determining solutions to manage them and that drive effective business decisions
- Build a foundation of analytical capabilities throughout the HR organization. Coordinate the design, development and implementation of analytical tools, technology and business solutions that improve HR and business decisions and that drive operational efficiency.
- Gather functional requirements, maintain documentation, and develop project plans and status reports used for managing Analytics projects and that guide the development activities of IT and HR Services supporting staff
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, presentations and visual aids designed to educate, inform and influence the decisions of HR clients and business leaders within Home Depot.
- Educate and raise the awareness of business leaders and internal HR clients regarding availability and use of analytical tools, techniques and the opportunities that exist with strategic use of Home Depot's HR information assets.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Sr. Manager of HR Services
- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but may required to lead projects requiring the support of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience with the statistical analysis and modeling of business data, preferably in areas of HR, Payroll, Benefits and Finance within a retail or large service based organization
- Six Sigma training and certification. Practical experience with applying Six Sigma techniques in formal business projects
- Experience with statistical analysis software such as SAS, Minitab, JMP
- Experience with designing business reports, dashboards and graphical presentations conveying analytical concepts
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint using advanced level spreadsheet analytics for developing presentation
- Experience working Microsoft Access or similar relational databases. SQL skills beneficial
- Experience with business data modeling, data warehousing and data mining techniques
- Familiarity or experience with MicroStrategy or other BI tools a plus.

- Strong presentation skills. The ability to present, explain and discuss results of analyses to effectively drive fact-based decision making within all levels of the organization
