We're looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect - OT to join our field Speclialist team. This is a key individual contributor within Zscaler's specialty go-to-market organization, responsible for driving customer-facing technical engagements across OT and industrial security environments globally. The role spans Zscaler's OT-relevant technology portfolio - Zero Trust Branch, deception, Privileged Remote Access, and Zscaler Cellular - and combines two jobs in one: the business owner who builds and develops a territory of demand, and the high-level architect who designs the target state. This role owns engagements end to end: generating demand from a defined target account base, leading consultative first meetings and in-depth architecture workshops, contributing to Proof of Value design, and feeding structured field evidence back to product and sales teams to advance Zscaler's OT security solution.
What You'll Do (Role Expectations)- Generate and develop OT demand. Work from a scored target account list, customer advisory boards, industry events, and structured outbound, converting first meetings into in-depth architecture workshops.
- Own the solution across the OT portfolio and lead target-state design. Architect across Zero Trust Branch (ZTB), deception, Privileged Remote Access (PRA), and Zscaler Cellular - selecting and combining capabilities against the customer's environment rather than leading with a single product. Align designs to ISA/IEC 62443 and the Purdue Model, integrating ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX where relevant, and position Zscaler as the core solution for securing industrial environments, bridging business intent and technical execution through high-level target-state designs.
- Deliver the OT consultative motion end to end within a defined, instrumented engagement process. Lead from first-meeting narrative through architecture workshop, working alongside the account team and SE, and aligning security and network stakeholders who often hold different views of the target state. Every engagement is logged from first meeting forward, Product Engagement (PE) entries are opened at the architecture-workshop gate, and each workshop produces a structured feedback report that is translated into voice-of-customer input for product teams.
- Contribute to PoV design and business value. Shape Proof of Value design and planning and remain aligned through execution without directly performing the PoV, collaborating closely with SE and specialist teams. Partner with Zscaler's business value assessment team to construct a cost consolidation map detailing tool consolidation, time savings, and cost reductions.
- Extend the motion beyond your own engagements. Use AI and automation as a force multiplier in your own workflow - content creation, research, engagement preparation, process automation - and drive adoption across the team. Build OT thought leadership through blogs, industry-event presence, and advisory-board content, and deliver field enablement sessions across core, specialty, and partner teams that produce reusable enablement artifacts.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what's needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You treat the OT motion as a territory you own - you build your own pipeline of conversations, are comfortable initiating customer contact, and treat a quiet calendar as a problem you own.
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You are a pragmatic builder. You are obsessed with creating, iterating, and shipping. You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and build the first version yourself, balancing the drive for technical excellence with the need to deliver value to users quickly. You adopt AI and automation tools in your own work without being asked, and you pull others forward - showing teams how these tools drive efficiency, from content creation to process automation.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback - knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust. You give and take candid feedback across sales, SE, product, and specialty teams.
- You are customer-obsessed. You build deep empathy for the customer - both internal and external - and anchor your decisions in solving their real-world problems. You champion their needs from start to finish, knowing their success is our success. You hold the security and network stakeholder views of the target state at the same time and design for both.
- Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving
- Expertise in the security architecture and protection of Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS), including a solid understanding of the Purdue-level model for an OT environment.
- Proven experience leading consultative customer engagements - facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops and translating discovery into target-state architecture.
- Solid understanding of macro and micro segmentation and network-level controls, including NAC (ISE, ClearPass), SD-WAN, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
- Demonstrated ability to translate architecture into business outcomes for security and network leadership.
- Proven experience in asset discovery, profiling, or visibility domains such as Armis, Dragos, Nozomi Networks, or Fortinet, and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, particularly focusing on contractor access.
- Experience generating technical pipeline - outbound engagement, advisory boards, industry-event presence, or published technical content.
- Demonstrated use of AI and automation tooling to accelerate technical or go-to-market work.
- Experience supporting customers across multiple regions and working effectively across global time zones.
