Overview
We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester to support the delivery of reliable, high-quality web applications. In this role, you will create and execute test cases, participate in Agile development processes, collaborate with remote development teams, and help identify, document, and validate software issues throughout the release cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and related Agile meetings, providing QA insight and feedback on story requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Write clear, effective test cases that align with acceptance criteria and fit within broader test plans.
- Perform acceptance testing during regular sprint cycles.
- Conduct regression testing before releases, in coordination with automated testing efforts.
- Collaborate with QA Automation Engineers to support test coverage, defect validation, and release readiness.
- Work closely with remote developers and cross-functional team members to support rapid iteration and issue resolution.
- Replicate, document, and refine customer-reported bugs, including steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, and relevant supporting details.
- Track testing activities, defects, and results using approved QA and development tools.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, systems, and testing practices as needed.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ years of experience testing web applications in a professional, academic, internship, or comparable project environment.
- Foundational understanding of software quality assurance principles, test planning, and defect life cycles.
- Ability to write and execute manual test cases based on user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience performing acceptance testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, and defect verification.
- Ability to clearly document defects, including reproducible steps, environment details, screenshots or logs where applicable, severity, and impact.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices, including sprint planning, refinement, daily standups, and sprint reviews.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate software behavior against documented requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with remote and cross-functional team members.
- Ability to learn new tools, systems, and workflows quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple testing tasks within sprint timelines.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with API testing concepts, tools, or workflows.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for work item tracking, test management, or defect reporting.
- Experience using TestRail or similar test case management tools.
- Exposure to automated testing processes or experience coordinating with QA Automation Engineers.
- Basic understanding of web technologies such as browsers, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or client/server architecture.
- Experience testing SaaS products, enterprise applications, or customer-facing web platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility, usability, performance, or cross-browser testing concepts.
- Experience working with distributed or remote software development teams.
