The Trimble SketchUp engineering team is seeking a talented Front-End Engineer to lead our newly formed AI feature team to spearhead the next evolution of SketchUp. The ideal candidate will have provable experience in Vue, Swift UI, or Qt, combined with a passion for cross-platform development and creating intuitive AI-powered experiences.

In this role, you'll collaborate with our Product and UI/UX teams to implement cross-platform AI features  and establish best practices for deployment across our ecosystem. You'll help shape the future of 3D modeling by creating seamless AI experiences that enhance our users' creative capabilities, while providing valuable feedback to optimize our feature delivery process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop front-end client code in at least two of Vue, Qt, or SwiftUI with a willingness to pick up all platforms

• Work with Software Architects to design features to be cross-platform requiring minimal repeated UI work across three clients

• Participate in code reviews and be a leader on the team in encouraging best practices

• Collaborate with Product Management as well as UI/UX on feature development

• Collaborate with other teams as necessary to ensure highest quality development

Required Skills/Experience:

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

• 5+ years as a professional software developer with at least 2 years of experience in cross-platform development

• Demonstrable experience in one of Vue, Qt, or Swift/SwiftUI

• Demonstrable experience in Typescript/Javascript

• Knowledge of Web standards and protocols including client-server architecture

• Familiarity with common commercial software development best practices

• A test-driven development mentality

• Strong problem-solving skills

Bonus Skills/Experience:

• Solid foundation in  C++ (preferably at least 3 years of experience)

• Experience in the development of Generative AI features especially in the area of 3D modeling

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including familiarity with their services related to AI.

• Familiarity with SketchUp and visually creative industries like architecture, interior design, landscape design, or woodworking
