Your role at Dynatrace

Do you want to ship across the full stack of a brand-new platform, from open-source SDKs running in thousands of codebases to the services and pipelines that power them? Join the Feature Management team, where we're building a new product on the Dynatrace platform that makes feature flags first-class citizens of the new agentic software delivery lifecycle: observable, governable, and safe from the moment code ships to the moment features are released and measured.

We're a team of former DevCycle and Dynatrace engineers building a new platform fast, with real ownership over what we ship. Engineers here work across the full product surface: the application and API service, our Cloudflare Workers and CDN edge, the OpenFeature SDKs and providers, the evaluation pipeline, and our integrations.

A core pillar of how we build is **Open**: the product is built on OpenFeature standards, and we're an active contributor and maintainer in the OpenFeature open-source community, with SDKs and providers used well beyond Dynatrace. This is a significant and visible part of the work, and a strong fit for someone who cares about open standards and developer experience.

What you'd work on

- Build and maintain product across the Feature Management stack: our React application and Java API service, Cloudflare Workers and CDN distribution, the OpenFeature SDKs and providers, the evaluation pipeline, and integrations. Engineers grow across this surface over time, working with the relevant domain tech lead on architecture and scoping.
- Contribute to our OpenFeature ecosystem across server and client platforms (Java, Go, .NET, Node, Python, PHP, Ruby, Rust on the server; Web, Android/Kotlin, and iOS/Swift on the client).
- Contribute upstream to the OpenFeature ecosystem (OpenFeature SDKs, OFREP protocol, flagd, etc.) and represent Dynatrace well in a vendor-neutral open-source community.
- Build for the agentic software delivery lifecycle: the flag observability, guardrails, and APIs that let AI-assisted pipelines and coding agents ship, evaluate, and safely roll back changes without a human in the loop for every release.
- Use AI-powered coding tools as a normal part of how you build, and help the team work out where they genuinely improve engineering workflows and where they don't.
- Take part in cross-cutting platform work where needed: developer tooling, test strategy and conformance across languages, infrastructure, and the Cloudflare edge.
- Participate in internal and open-source code reviews, testing, and debugging, and take production ownership of what you ship, using Dynatrace to monitor and improve it.

What will help you succeed

- Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience. Java and React are where most of the work lands, so that's what we're looking for first; strong candidates coming from Go, .NET, or other JavaScript/TypeScript backgrounds who want to pick them up are welcome, along with the appetite to work across the other languages in our SDK ecosystem as you go.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI-powered tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, etc.), with an eagerness to test new AI tools where they improve engineering workflows.
- Clear written communication and the ability to work effectively with a distributed, cross-functional team.
- Comfort working in the open: contributing to an open-source community, taking feedback publicly, and holding a high bar while moving fast.

Nice to have

- Experience building or maintaining libraries, SDKs, services, or developer-facing APIs, with a sense for ergonomics and developer experience.
- Experience with OpenFeature, flagd, OFREP, or feature flagging / experimentation systems.
- Open-source contribution of any kind, especially in a vendor-neutral or standards setting (CNCF or similar).
- Experience publishing and releasing packages to public registries (Maven Central, npm, NuGet, PyPI, RubyGems, crates.io, SPM).
- Experience with Cloudflare Workers, CDN/edge systems, or infrastructure and developer tooling.
- Background in observability, APM, or progressive delivery.

Who you are

You think about the developer on the other side of the API.

You care whether what you ship is correct, predictable, and pleasant to integrate, not just whether it passes its own tests.

You're curious about languages and codebases you haven't used yet.

You take ownership of what you ship, and you want to understand what breaks in production and why.

You can work in the open, take feedback from a community, and hold a high bar while still moving fast.
