As a Software Engineer III-Automation Test at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment bank for payments technology business, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Automation Using Cucumber, Cypress, Selenium, Playwright
- Ability to customize BDD/Selenium in various integrations
- Knowledge and ability to design, build maintain test automation framework
- Automation test cases and feature file creation
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 6+ years of applied experience.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Functional testing experience, including test preparation, test design, execution, and results reporting.
- Experience partnering with QA (manual and automation), developers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand the business domain, requirements, and system functionality.
- Experience designing, developing, maintaining, executing, and reporting automated test suites using any of the tools - Cucumber or Cypress or Selenium or Playwright, including tracking and communicating automation status and quality metrics.
- Experience with defect lifecycle management, including defect logging, verification/re-testing, and tracking through closure in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability concepts.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large-scale enterprise environment using one or more modern programming languages.
- Experience with Oracle/RDBMS to support testing and troubleshooting, with a solid understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security considerations, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and support timely problem resolution.
