The Social Media Specialist will create engaging content, manage social media platforms, and enhance community engagement while tracking performance metrics.
Social Media Specialist | Remote (Kansas City Metro) | Part-Time
At BB Imaging, we’re more than a diagnostic imaging company - we’re a collaborative, purpose-driven team dedicated to elevating diagnostic services and the sonographers who make it possible. Guided by our mission to make high-quality ultrasound accessible for every patient, we show up for our communities both in the clinic and online.
As our Social Media Specialist, you’ll be the creative force behind BB Imaging’s brand presence across social platforms. You’ll craft scroll-stopping content, build reusable templates that empower our internal teams, and own the day-to-day management of our posting cadence and community engagement. You’ll work closely with our Marketing Generalist and report to the Vice President, Sales and Marketing - bringing our brand to life in a way that is authentic, consistent, and platform-smart.
This is a part-time role built for a social-native creator who understands how brand voice translates across platforms, can build content systems that scale, and genuinely cares about the communities we serve.
What You’ll Get
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
- Part-time, flexible hours with a fully remote schedule
- In-person creative collaboration sessions as needed in the Kansas City Metro area
- Paid time off
- A chance to do meaningful, creative work for a mission-driven healthcare brand
What You’ll Do
Brand Content & Content Creation
- Develop original, on-brand social media content - graphics, short-form video, carousels, and copy - for BB Imaging’s owned platforms
- Build and maintain a library of content templates tailored to each internal team (Recruiting, Sales, Clinical) so they can post confidently and consistently without breaking brand
- Translate culture moments, team milestones, employee spotlights, and mission stories into engaging social content
- Collaborate with the Marketing Generalist and leadership to align content themes with active campaigns across Talent, Internal, and Sales marketing pillars
- Adapt content across platform formats and specs - what works on LinkedIn won’t always work on Instagram, and you know the difference
- Maintain working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and ensure all social media content is compliant with patient privacy requirements, including proper handling of protected health information (PHI)
Platform Management & Scheduling
- Own and maintain BB Imaging’s posting calendar across all active platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and others as needed)
- Schedule and publish content using social media management tools, maintaining a consistent cadence that keeps our brand active and visible
- Coordinate with the Marketing Generalist to ensure social content is synced with broader campaign timelines and launch dates
- Monitor platform-specific algorithm changes and best practices, proactively adjusting strategy to maintain reach and performance
Community Engagement
- Monitor comments, DMs, and mentions across platforms and respond in a timely, on-brand manner
- Escalate sensitive or complex inquiries to the appropriate team member - you’re the first line of engagement, not the last
- Foster genuine connection with our community of sonographers, clients, and healthcare partners through thoughtful, human interactions
- Identify and flag user-generated content, reshare opportunities, and organic engagement moments that strengthen brand affinity
Reporting & Insights
- Track and report on key social metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, link clicks) on a regular cadence
- Provide clear performance summaries to the Marketing Generalist and Vice President, Sales and Marketing to inform content strategy
- Monitor competitor social presence and industry trends to bring fresh, relevant ideas to the content calendar
Please note that duties and responsibilities of this position are subject to change and the employee may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of social media content creation and platform management experience, preferably for a brand or agency (healthcare experience a plus)
- Strong design eye and proficiency in Canva - you can take a brand guide and run with it
- Experience creating short-form video content (Reels, TikTok-style) and understanding of what drives performance in each format
- Solid understanding of platform differences and content strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
- Experience building content templates or scalable creative systems for internal or cross-functional teams
- Excellent copywriting instincts - you write with brand voice, not just filler text
- Organized and self-directed: you can manage a content calendar and meet deadlines without someone checking in every day
- Comfortable using social scheduling tools (Vista Social or similar) and pulling basic platform analytics
- A genuine interest in mission-driven work and comfort telling stories about real people and real impact
- Collaborative spirit - you’re happy to take direction from leadership and loop in closely with the Marketing Generalist on campaign alignment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future
