Develop and maintain visualization tools for spacecraft simulations, mission demonstrations, test support, and camera-system emulation. Build high-fidelity models for vision-system development and testing, create graphical displays for spacecraft telemetry and sensor data, improve simulation workflows, and support mission rehearsals and operations. Collaborate with GNC, Space Operations, Mission Design, Business Development, and Testbed teams.
As a Simulation Visualization Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the tools for visualizing simulation results and models to emulate camera systems. You will work closely with the GNC, Space Ops, Mission Design, Business Development, and Testbed teams to create displays and high-quality renders of our space vehicles executing our missions. Additionally, you will emulate the vision systems we are deploying on orbit with high-fidelity models that enable algorithm development and testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop visualizations of our vehicles executing their missions.
- Collaborate with Mission Design engineers and Business Development to create high-quality demonstrations of what our vehicles can do.
- Support our test efforts with your visualizations and displays that enable intuitive understanding by the viewer.
- Create models of our space-vehicle camera systems for vision systems to be developed and tested against.
- Contribute to software and tool development to improve simulation workflows.
- Participate in mission dress rehearsals and operations, supporting in-situ requests from the team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in modeling and simulation of physical systems.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Familiarity in Unity, Unreal, or other rendering engines
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing graphical displays for spacecraft sensor data and telemetry monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience with version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience with Vizard and Basilisk.
- Familiarity with space vehicle dynamics and optical systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
