About This Role: 

We’re seeking a hands-on, experienced Senior Visual Design Manager to join our team as a player-coach, someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and design alongside a talented group of visual designers. This role reports to the Head of Design and works closely with Marketing and other creative leads to shape high-impact marketing assets that are visually compelling, brand-aligned, and performance-driven. You’ll help elevate our design craft while maintaining operational excellence and consistent brand expression across campaigns. Creative Leadership & Execution:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to oversee the creative development and execution of digital marketing assets across campaigns, platforms, and channels.
  • Provide hands-on design support for high-priority initiatives and fast-moving projects.
  • Give fast, actionable feedback during design reviews, ensuring brand and visual consistency at every touchpoint.
  • Collaborate with photographers and production teams to ensure visuals from product and lifestyle photo shoots align with brand standards and campaign goals.

Team Collaboration & Execution:

  • Act as a player-coach within the visual design team—mentoring, inspiring, and designing in the trenches.
  • Partner with the Head of Design to support team growth, creative development, and design quality.
  • Foster a collaborative, creative environment that values quality, agility, and design excellence.

Brand Stewardship:

  • Help evolve and maintain the visual identity of the brand across all design work.
  • Ensure the design system, brand standards, and creative assets are applied consistently.
  • Contribute new visual directions that keep the brand fresh, relevant, and engaging.

Planning & Campaign Support:

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Content, and Product teams to align design strategies with business goals.
  • Co-develop themes, mood boards, and color schemes that inform cohesive campaign aesthetics.
  • Create and maintain campaign playbooks that ensure consistency across all marketing touchpoints.

Process & Optimization:

  • Support the development of scalable design systems, templates, and guidelines to accelerate execution.
  • Help streamline workflows, design operations, and cross-functional communication to boost creative efficiency.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in digital design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
  • Proven expertise in creating a wide range of digital marketing assets, including banners, email templates, social media graphics, and display ads.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality, scalable design work and innovative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
  • Solid understanding and experience designing within various CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, Fastr, Builder.io) and marketing technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Design Systems, Pattern and Component Libraries.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira or Monday.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing tools and data-driven design decisions.
  • Proven ability to coach, inspire, and collaborate within a creative team.
  • Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals and how design impacts marketing performance.
  • Expertise with e-commerce best practices and digital marketing trends.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design principles.

Additional Details:

At Health-E Commerce, our goal is to provide an offer that supports growth potential within the role and allows for future salary progression.  Final compensation is evaluated on various factors which include but aren’t limited to experience, skills, internal equity among peers, and geographic location. 

  • Compensation: $90,000 - 120,000
  • Discretionary Annual Bonus Eligibility: Up to 10%
