The Senior Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading and driving occupancy growth across Spectrum Retirement Communities through development and disciplined execution of the company’s sales strategy.  This role holds direct accountability for sales productivity and conversion outcomes across all communities.

The Senior Vice President role is to provide clear leadership and direction to regional and community sales teams, ensuring alignment with Spectrum’s sales process, standards, and expectations.  This is a highly visible, field-oriented leadership role focused on execution, accountability, and results.

As a key member of the leadership team, this position translates strategy into action, identifies and addresses performance gaps, and ensures consistent sales execution across the portfolio.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Achieve and sustain community occupancy targets.
  • Drive deposit growth and improve lead-to-move-in conversion rates.
  • Reduce sales cycle length and increase decision velocity.
  • Ensure consistent CRM utilization, accuracy, and accountability.
  • Elevate performance in underperforming communities through targeted intervention.
  • Sustain occupancy in highly occupied communities
  • Build and maintain a disciplined, results-driven sales culture.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own and drive sales performance across all communities, with direct accountability for achieving census and deposit goals.
  • Set clear expectations and hold regional and community sales leaders accountable for execution of Spectrum’s sales process, including lead management, follow-up, and conversion.
  • Coach and develop sales leadership through hands-on engagement, reinforcing best practices and consistent execution.
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing development of Regional Directors of Sales and newly hired sales leaders, ensuring consistency in process, performance expectations, and execution.
  • Ensure appropriate sales coverage across communities, including developing and deploying interim support plans when a Sales Director role is vacant.
  • Identify performance gaps quickly and implement action plans to improve outcomes in underperforming communities.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to ensure alignment between sales execution and operational readiness, removing barriers to occupancy growth.
  • Own CRM performance and utilization, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accountability across all communities.
  • Establish, monitor, and act on KPIs at the community, regional, and portfolio level to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide data-driven insights to executive leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities impacting occupancy performance.
  •  Oversee competitive market analysis (comp sets) to ensure each community is accurately positioned and informed in its sales approach.
  • Partner closely on pricing strategy to drive revenue growth while maintaining competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align strategies with community-specific needs and ensure delivery of qualified leads.
  • Lead talent decisions, including hiring, development, and performance management of sales team members.
  • Maintain a strong field presence through regular community visits, reinforcing expectations and supporting execution.
  • Travel up to 60%

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record of driving occupancy growth across multiple communities or regions in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Strong operator with the ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable and improve performance outcomes
  • Deep understanding of sales process management, CRM utilization, and conversion metrics.
  • Comfortable addressing underperformance directly and implementing change.
  • Highly visible, hands-on leader who engages in the field and leads by example.
  • Ability to balance urgency, professionalism, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Leadership Expectations

  • Operates with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Drives clarity, consistency, and discipline across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborates and partners with leaders throughout the organization
  • Leads with a focus on results while maintaining alignment with Spectrum’s values and standards.
  • Builds trust through transparency, follow-through, and strong communication.

Regional Sales Team Oversight
Direct and support five Regional Directors of Sales, ensuring consistent execution of sales strategy across all communities.  Set clear performance expectations, monitor key metrics, and drive results through regular communication, data-informed decision-making, and hands-on coaching.  Foster accountability, professional growth, and alignment with organizational goals, while ensuring each Regional Director is effectively guiding their community sales teams.
