Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager – Performance

We're looking for a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to drive go-to-market strategy, and positioning for Fastly's application and API performance solutions. In this role you will articulate the technical details of how Fastly talks about performance and why it’s needed in a world where a growing share of traffic hitting applications and APIs is no longer human. Performance has always been core to Fastly's story. What's changing is who and what that performance now has to serve.

In partnership with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, you will translate deep technical understanding of modern traffic patterns into launches, solution sets, and enablement that help internal team members, customers, and prospects see Fastly as the platform built for how the internet actually behaves today.

What You'll Do
  • GTM Launch Execution: Design, enable, execute, and measure product launches and go-to-market plans in alignment with Product Marketing and other cross functional teams
  • Positioning: Own positioning for how Fastly's platform delivers performance for both human and non-human traffic — including AI crawlers, fetchers, and autonomous agents — developing narratives that resonate with technical buyers.
  • Report on emerging Traffic Patterns: Stay ahead of how AI-driven and automated traffic is reshaping application and API performance requirements, and translate that understanding into empirical product positioning and content.
  • Competitive Differentiation: Position Fastly's performance capabilities against both legacy CDN vendors and newer entrants addressing AI-era traffic.
  • Cross-Sell Narrative: Build narratives that help existing customers understand the value of Fastly's expanding performance capabilities as their traffic mix evolves.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with sales and enablement teams to create trainings, slide decks, and other assets they can use in their sales cycles.
  • Market Positioning: Apply competitive intelligence and market context from Portfolio Intelligence to optimally position Fastly's performance-oriented products and features.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product strategy, messaging, and packaging are aligned and effective.
  • Content & Campaign Support: Support technical assets with the Growth Marketing and Campaign teams for use across the buyer journey.
  • Product Evangelism: Deliver presentations to the public on Fastly's unique and differentiated performance story.
What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 3+ years of product marketing or related experience.
  • Technical background in content delivery, edge computing, or a closely adjacent field — you understand how modern applications and APIs are built, served, and optimized at scale.
  • Working knowledge of (or strong interest in) how non-human traffic — AI crawlers, fetchers, bots, and agents — is changing performance, cost, and reliability requirements for applications and APIs.
  • Strong storytelling skills, including excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to translate technical nuance into clear customer-facing narratives.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and drive.

We'll Be Impressed If You Have:

  • Previous experience as a sales engineer
  • Hands-on experience with content delivery networks, gateways, and adjacent technologies .
  • Direct exposure to how AI agents, LLM crawlers, or automated fetchers interact with web and API infrastructure.
  • A track record of launching or marketing performance-related products in a technical, developer-adjacent market.
