  • Paid holidays and flexible, take-it-as-you-need-it paid time off

  • A culture built on innovation that values big ideas, no matter where they come from

As a Senior Product Manager I, Search Platform, you are the lead architect of the infrastructure that powers search experiences across HCP. This is a high-impact platform role where your primary customers are internal domain teams, and your success is measured by the speed and quality with which they can build, ship, and evolve sophisticated search experiences. You operate with a dual perspective: strategizing for an elite developer experience while maintaining a relentless focus on Pro outcomes. You don't just manage a roadmap; you build the long-term vision for search infrastructure, ensuring it scales, evolves, and remains a competitive advantage for the entire organization. You are a key influencer across the Product and Engineering teams, guiding how we leverage retrieval technologies to solve complex business problems at scale.

Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.

What you do Each Day

  • Strategize and define the long-term vision for search infrastructure at HCP

  • Build and maintain the Search Platform roadmap, balancing foundational reliability with high-leverage new capabilities

  • Identify and execute opportunities to accelerate product velocity across all domain teams

  • Lead decisions regarding infrastructure and internal builds that drive the most significant impacts for our Pros and the business

  • Drive team efficiency and output quality through the strategic use of AI tools and automation to compress discovery and coordination

  • Analyze performance, latency, and search quality to proactively mitigate risks and surface platform-wide improvements

  • Define and evolve the technical contracts between the platform and domain teams (i.e. schemas, field standards, APIs...)

  • Streamline workflows for schema changes and re-indexing to minimize friction and operational risk

  • Partner deeply with Engineering on index design, data pipelines, search APIs, and observability

  • Architect abstraction layers that enable domain teams to build search experiences without requiring deep infrastructure expertise

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, specifically within platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products

  • Advanced experience in product management for search systems (i.e. OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar...)

  • Proven track record of defining APIs, SDKs, or internal platform contracts consumed by multiple engineering teams

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define, monitor, and report on platform health and performance metrics

  • SaaS product experience, ideally supporting business-critical workflows where search is a primary user action

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

What will help you succeed in this role

  • Proven experience driving team efficiency or output quality through the strategic use of AI tools and automation

  • Genuine motivation to champion the needs of Search Platform’s direct customers (i.e. internal product and engineering teams)

  • Experience with hybrid search architectures combining keyword/vector search with AI or LLM-based retrieval (i.e. RAG, semantic search, re-ranking)

  • Familiarity with applied ML or LLM integration patterns in production environments

  • Ability to operate strategically while unblocking complex tactical infrastructure hurdles

  • Clear, persuasive communication style capable of making complex infrastructure tradeoffs understandable for all stakeholders

  • Deep commitment to connecting platform investments directly to Pro workflows and outcomes
