Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Advanced System Administration: Lead the administration of Linux operating systems and AWS resources, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with best practices
  • Automation Leadership: Design, deploy, and manage applications and services using Ansible for configuration management and automation, driving efficiency across Linux environments
  • Playbook Development: Create and implement complex Ansible playbooks to streamline the deployment of applications and services across diverse environments
  • Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Leverage a deep understanding of AWS services, including VPC, EC2, Security Groups, S3, and Kubernetes clusters, to optimize provisioning, scaling, and container orchestration
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Oversee the integration of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, facilitating automated workflows and improving application deployment processes
  • Monitoring and Security Automation: Implement automated solutions for system monitoring, upgrades, and security patches for Linux and Windows servers to maintain high availability and compliance
  • Resource Optimization: Proactively identify and recommend updates to Linux systems and Kubernetes architecture to enhance resource utilization, scalability, and performance
  • Backup and Recovery Strategies: Develop and maintain comprehensive backup strategies and policies to ensure data integrity, availability, and efficient recovery across diverse systems
  • Observability Tools Utilization: Utilize observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting on system performance, ensuring rapid incident response
  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Document technical processes and procedures, including architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures for Linux and Windows environments, to improve knowledge sharing and team efficiency
  • Issue Resolution and Mentorship: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Linux servers, Kubernetes networking, and container lifecycle management while mentoring junior engineers
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to contribute to design, architecture, and automation efforts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; a minimum of five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least five years of experience managing Linux platforms in private cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with Linux systems in cloud environments, deploying microservices, and managing container orchestration
  • Ansible Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management, with a strong capability in YAML for playbook creation
  • Kubernetes Management: Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters, including networking, ingress controllers, persistent storage management, and troubleshooting on Linux
  • Mandatory Certification: Possession of a relevant certification such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Ansible certification is required
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation, mentorship, and collaboration within teams

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $158,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
