KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract.
KBR is seeking a highly-skilled, motivated and proactive teammate to support Mission Delta 8 (MD8), 8th Sustainment Squadron (8STS) and Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center-Nuclear Command, Control & Communication (NC3) Sustainment Division (AFNWC/NCL) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct operations and sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and NC3 systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nation’s warfighters.
KBR is seeking a Senior Sustainment Software Developer to lead our MILSATCOM Applications Development (MAD) team, supporting Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) processes at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We are looking for an innovative, creative, and highly motivated individual to develop critical software used to manage the technical baseline for multiple space systems, terminals and applications in the MILSATCOM and NC3 portfolio for the Joint Force and Allied partners. This position is a growth opportunity for the best candidate who is career-focused and technically-savvy coupled with demonstrated leadership and managerial experience in the software development field. This position will be joining our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment IPT and be an important part of directly and positively affecting warfighter readiness as they employ US Air Force (USAF) and US Space Force (USSF) systems worldwide in support of full spectrum military operations.

Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead a highly skilled software development team to architect, design and implement MILSATCOM and NC3 software applications to enhance and support Sustaining Engineering processes for the Joint/Allied warfighter
• Interact with military and civilian management to consult and coordinate workflow processes required by DoW System Engineering specifications
• Perform end user training and demonstrations for various levels of personnel to enhance the understanding and knowledge of systems engineering processes
• Provide key technical support and consultation for the applications implemented for systems engineering processes
• Mentor a technical team with design and direction of web-based architecture applications
• Be forward-thinking with application requirements and DoW direction
• Prepare and present briefings consisting of 20 or more people; ability to demonstrate software products to non-technical personnel at all levels of military, civilian and contractor
• Engage the customer and program teammates to answer questions and resolve blockers/issues/concerns; a visionary consultant always thinking on behalf of the customer
• Lead and make decisions that affect work product; ability to manage a diverse staff to include hiring decisions
• Turn requirements into technical solutions with creativity and minimal input from the government
• Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly management reports on time.

Qualifications:
Required:
• DoW SECRET clearance with ability to attain a TS/SCI clearance
• 15+ years experience in IT with team lead/supervisory skills
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent technical discipline with diverse software development environments
• Ability to manage professional relationships with DoW military and civilian clients
• Quick learner with new and existing technologies with little formal training - a self-starter
• Knowledge of cloud deployed web-based applications and DevOps server
• Understanding of networks and willingness to work with Sys Admins on web network configurations.
• Excellent technical skills in programming/scripting, SQL database design and maintenance, web design, web architecture, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and WEB server IIS configuration
• Object oriented programming in C# and .Net Core 8.0 or greater, Blazor Server development, and experience with Common Access Card (CAC) certificate authorization methodology
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• Experience to design Jira issue screens and workflows and Confluence repositories
Preferred:
• Knowledge of DoW operations and workflow processes
• Knowledge of DoW MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications
• Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) processes and systems; ability to integrate databases/workflows with Jira/Confluence and SysML tools/applications
This position is 100% onsite with the government customer given mission and contract requirements and, as such, is not eligible for full remote or hybrid work options.
Basic Compensation: $139,000-$174,000 in Colorado Springs, CO
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
