Our Corporate Accounting team plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of a large, multi-entity healthcare system. This team is highly collaborative and focused on delivering accurate, timely financials while continuously improving processes and standardizing accounting practices. You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact accounting activities while partnering closely with experienced leaders and cross-functional teams.
How you’ll contribute
A Senior Staff Accountant who excels in this role:
Support the end-to-end month-end close process for corporate-level accounting, including preparation and posting of journal entries and completion of close checklists
Perform complex allocations of corporate expenses across a large, multi-entity environment (60+ hospitals), ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaids, accruals, and other corporate accounts
Utilize advanced Excel functionality (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) to support allocations, reporting, and reconciliation processes
Conduct P&L and balance sheet analysis, identifying and explaining variances to ensure accuracy of financial results
Support post-close review and certification processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Partner with internal teams to analyze, validate, and improve accounting processes, with a focus on standardization and efficiency
Provide corporate-level accounting support, including recording and allocating shared expenses across multiple facilities
Collaborate with leadership on ad hoc reporting and special projects, including analytical and process improvement initiatives
Assist with cross-training opportunities across accounting functions (e.g., cash, payroll) to support broader team capabilities
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements, including accurate and timely financial reporting
What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Additional qualifications include:
Required:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-entity environment
Strong experience with:
Month-end close processes
Journal entry preparation and posting
Balance sheet reconciliations
Experience working in a high-volume or multi-entity environment (e.g., shared services, corporate accounting, or large organizations)
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), and large data set analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and explain financial variances
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, particularly during month-end close
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred:
Healthcare accounting experience
Experience with allocations across multiple entities or cost centers
CPA or progress toward certification
Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
Exposure to process improvement or accounting standardization initiatives
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: On-site in Brentwood, TN
- Friday: Remote flexibility
- Standard business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Month-end close: Additional hours may be required during the first 1–2 weeks of the month, including occasional evenings or weekends
