Mission: Essence of the Job

As one of our first Senior Sourcing Specialists at BoomPop, you’ll become part of our expanding sourcing team. You will play a critical role in managing a customer account and helping our client book non-hotel vendors for their events. This means you’ll anticipate, support, and analyze the sourcing needs of our client with exceptional customer service, account management, unwavering adaptability to changing needs, and a strong focus on reducing time-to-source. You will also play a crucial role in helping to inform product development decisions and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company. This role sits at a critical nexus point between sales and our event agency.


Top 3 Priorities

  1. Ability to negotiate with non-hotel vendors and finalize vendor bookings that are aligned with the client’s preferences. You will own this entire process!
  2. Understand holistic client needs, maintain clear communication, and be the main point of contact between the customer account and non-hotel vendors.  The ability to work with multiple contacts within the customer account and manage the non-hotel vendor bookings for the account is a priority!
  3. Provide cross-functional sourcing support across the Customer Account, Sales Team, and Sourcing Team, rigorously prioritizing the highest impact areas among other competing priorities.

Within 30 days:

  • You will have familiarized yourself with the sourcing team and processes by learning the BoomPop product and SOPs. You'll also begin establishing relationships with the Customer Account. You will be fully onboarded and sourcing non-hotel vendors for the customer account.

Within 60 days:

  • You will provide product and partnerhub feedback and help with projects to streamline sourcing. You will make suggestions on changes needed to the SOP  in order to better the sourcing process for the customer account. You’ll also have a full understanding of BP’s software and Full Event Agency

Within 90 days:

  • You will become a trusted and reliable sourcer for the customer account and build strong relationships with non-hotel vendors and the customer account. You’ll also begin to own projects that will contribute to elevating the sourcing process.

What you'll do

  • Own the non-hotel sourcing process for the Customer Account
  • Handle and finalize all non-hotel bookings, including negotiating contract terms and clauses
  • Partner with the Sourcing Manager who will own the hotel sourcing process for the Customer Account. 
  • Partner with the international sourcing support team, who will assist with all non-hotel vendor bookings
  • Partner with sales to ensure contracts are executed, and clients are happy   
  • Work with supply partners to ensure RFP accuracy to reduce sourcing errors, and reduce the overall time it takes us to complete the sourcing product platform-wide as a first issue priority
  • Regularly review the sourcing funnel and analyze needs, opportunities, and potential blockers
  • Demonstrate exceptional client obsession by consistently meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Adapt to changing client requests with a positive attitude and a focus on finding solutions
  • Own process improvement and documentation for best practices to ensure the team is set up for success
  • Establish an ongoing feedback loop with the partnerships team on hotel performance


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the Meetings & Events industry, with a focus on sourcing, vendor management/coordination, sales, planning, and execution
  • 1-3 years of experience in hotels/hospitality required
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong adaptability, flexibility, and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to rigorously prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing a high volume of tasks
  • Strong executive presence and ability to present information to a variety of senior leaders
  • Proven ability to be creative and innovative in planning in-person events

Occasional Travel: Connecting is in our DNA, please note that we anticipate roughly 6-8 nights of travel per year for this role.


Total Compensation Package; Including Benefits and Stock:

  • Base: $72,000 - $75,000 a year; Depending on Experience and Qualifications
  • Medical, vision, dental, life: $10,000 - $16,000 a year; Depending on Individual or Family Plan
