At Simply Framed, we're on a mission to make custom framing simple and accessible. We work with both individual customers who wish to preserve their cherished art and photos, and with artists and art studios to help them produce, manufacture, and ship their art with ease. Our goal is to handle the logistics so they can focus on what they do best: creating. We're looking for a seasoned engineer to take sole ownership of our platform and drive its future. This role offers the opportunity to be the single point of technical expertise, blending a passion for thoughtful problem-solving with a desire to create beautiful products.

The Opportunity

As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the evolution of our core platform. We're not just looking for a coder; we're seeking a builder who can own the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment. This is a pivotal role with the potential to grow as the company scales. This role reports directly to the CEO.

What You'll Be Doing

• Architect and Build: Architect and build the next generation of our platform, directly enabling new physical product lines and revenue streams.
• Scale and Optimize: Take full ownership of our e-commerce platform, focusing on performance optimization, stability, and scaling our existing serverless architecture.
• Set Technical Direction: Set the technical direction for Simply Framed, evaluating new technologies and modernizing our stack to ensure long-term stability and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Deep Technical Expertise: You have extensive experience building on AWS and are highly proficient in Python for serverless APIs (ideally with the Serverless Framework). You're also experienced with TypeScript for Shopify app development and other frontend applications. Experience with cloud-based ERP systems is also a plus.
• Full-Stack Ownership: You're comfortable working across the entire stack, from back-end logic to front-end implementation. You thrive in a role where you can own a project from start to finish.
• Collaboration & Prioritization: You possess the critical ability to synthesize feedback from stakeholders across the company. You can take a multitude of requests and help prioritize them effectively to deliver the most impactful solutions.
• Proactive & Independent: While this is a solo role, you're a self-starter who can take initiative, identify problems, and propose solutions with a high degree of autonomy.
