Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer located in Latam to own the full lifecycle of our Azure production environment and provide expert support to our development teams. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating a secure, scalable infrastructure using Bicep for IaC and managing complex services like AKS, APIM, and Event Hubs. This role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, high availability, and seamless CI/CD integration to enable fast and safe application delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure as Code: Design and maintain production-grade Azure infrastructure using Bicep, ensuring all resources from networking to application services are managed as code.

  • Application Delivery & Networking: Implement and manage Azure API Management (APIM), Azure App Gateway, and Azure Front Door to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance application delivery.

  • Container Orchestration: Deploy and operate containerized workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster optimization, Helm chart management, and advanced networking configurations.

  • Event-Driven Architecture: Support and manage Azure Event Hubs with Kafka protocol support for real-time data streaming and event-driven microservices.

  • Develop end-to-end YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps for automated provisioning and application deployment, integrating gates and automated testing.

  • Production Operations: Own the reliability of the Azure environment by monitoring health via Azure Monitor and Application Insights, leading incident response, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Security & Identity: Enforce Azure Security services, including Entra ID (Azure AD) RBAC, Managed Identities, Azure Key Vault for secrets, and Azure Policy for governance and compliance.

  • Developer Enablement: Collaborate with developers to integrate code into pipelines, manage Git branching strategies, and provide mentorship on cloud-native best practices.

  • Managing all required environments: Primary Environment (Production) and Secondary Environments (Non-Prod).

Qualifications

Technical skills: 

  • 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps and Cloud Engineering within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

  • Expertise in Azure Core Services: Deep knowledge of VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Storage (Blob/Files).

  • Hands-on with Bicep: Proven ability to build modular, reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns.

  • Advanced Azure Services: Practical experience managing Azure APIM, Azure App Gateway, and Azure Event Hubs (Kafka).

  • Kubernetes Proficiency: Experience running AKS in production, including node pool optimization and pod autoscaling.

  • Security Mindset: Strong experience with Azure Security Center, vulnerability scanning (SAST/DAST), and container registry security (ACR).

  • Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python for creating operational tools and self-service platforms.

Soft skills: 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ownership, and ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a desire to learn and teach.

  • Excellent understanding of development processes and agile methodologies.

  • Analytic, flexible, adaptative, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly.

Bonus skills:

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) or AZ-305 (Solutions Architect).

  • Experience with GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD) and Kubernetes service meshes (Istio).

  • Knowledge of FinOps for cloud cost management and resource optimization.
