OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Software Engineer - AI Ops and Operations Platform Engineering engineers, designs, and builds software platforms to deliver best-in-class support experiences. Will coordinate initiatives within a product team. Supports initiatives that ensure enterprise systems are and remain best-in-class. Learning to lead teams and bodies of work. Partners and coordinates with technology support SMEs and leverages AI Ops practices. Drives support experience transformation through software platform innovation.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Software Development
Drive development of existing software and contribute to development of new software by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
Develop software that is fast, secure and reliable to meet defined requirements.
Platform Ownership
Contribute to software platform lifecycle from development to maintenance, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and driving adoption.
Infrastructure as Code & Intelligent Platform Automation
Engineer scalable, resilient, and intelligent software platforms by applying modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and others. Define and enforce platform standards across diverse technologies to enable consistent, automated, and secure environments. Integrate IaC with AI Ops capabilities to support predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and self-healing infrastructure—driving operational excellence and empowering technology support teams with reliable, high-performing systems. Collaborate with SREs and DevOps teams to embed AI Ops into CI/CD pipelines.
AI Ops Engineering
Design and develop intelligent operational capabilities by leveraging AI Ops principles to replace manual and legacy automation. Utilize advanced observability, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics to proactively identify and resolve issues. Employ orchestration platforms and automation technologies such as Agentic AI, Python, PowerShell, Linux shell, Ansible, Terraform, etc. to build scalable, self-healing systems that enhance platform reliability and performance. Engineer to replace legacy monitoring with AI-driven observability platforms.
Software Maintenance
Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning software, leveraging the support and skill of more junior teammates.
Design and Conceptualization
Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.` Promote and advocate for AI Ops adoption across engineering and support teams.
Technical Developments Recommendation
Research and suggest ways to optimize solutions to better meet user and/or business, performance, quality needs. Uses AI-driven insights and predictive analytics to proactively optimize software platforms
Software Roadmap
Drive maintenance road map to facilitate software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
Faults Diagnosis and Correction
Find root cause and resolution to limit and address issues promptly. Reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) through predictive alerting and automated remediation. Improve system uptime and reliability through proactive issue detection. Enhance operational efficiency by minimizing manual intervention in incident response.
Work Scheduling and Allocation
Assign short-term work schedules to a team based on storyboarding/backlog to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
Ongoing Learning and Development
Develop own and mento more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Program/Portfolio Management Support
Contribute to work within an established program management plan to achieve specific goals.
Technical Persistence Layer/Modern Database Design/Development
Guide and deliver the design distribution of database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database solutions for optimum performance.
Functional/Technical Requirements
Support the collection of functional requirements using document analysis and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Develop and maintain Agile, version-controlled documentation enriched with observability data and incident learnings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with ML models for anomaly detection and incident prediction.
Strong understanding of event correlation, root cause analysis, and noise reduction techniques.
Experience integrating AI Ops with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level preferred
General Experience: Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)
Managerial Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)

Targeted Pay Range: $83,000.00 - $138,200.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
