As part of this exciting expansion, we're seeking a motivated sales development representative (SDR) to join our growth team. We need self-starters who enjoy both technology and working with people. As our team is growing fast, we need individuals with a "whatever it takes" mindset and a strong sense of urgency.
As a sales development representative, you will drive Papaya’s future growth by prospecting and identifying new customers. You will work hand-in-hand with our account executive team to generate leads and build Papaya’s pipelines. The role has tremendous near-term growth potential into senior sales and team leadership roles, allowing you to not only kick-start your sales career at Papaya; but also grow and develop with an organization in hyper-growth mode.

You will
- Uncover new opportunities by proactively reaching out to prospects, ranging from hyper-growth startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders within a prospective account through outbound cold calling and build relationships within those accounts to uncover needs through effective questioning, ensuring qualification of interest and readiness for meeting.
- Generate meetings by means of proactive outbound prospecting and lead activity management to qualify and offer our solutions to potential customers.
- Work directly with marketing to discover opportunities from leads and set appointments from those leads.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Papaya’s products, services, and value proposition, to provide high-level introduction.
- Work closely with sales and attend potential customer meetings as required.
- Consistently achieve a quarterly quota of qualified meetings and opportunities.
- Update and manage activities, opportunities, and account information in Salesforce.
- Collaborate and provide feedback and insights to marketing to help improve targeting and messaging.
- 2+ years of experience as an outbound sales development representative, with a record of accomplishment and success.
- Ideally, experience within the EOR, fintech, or workforce management solutions industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively and working independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English (native level), with demonstrated ability to influence others.
- Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability.
- Passion for engaging in cross-industry consultative conversations regarding business challenges and opportunities, with ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on approach – willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done, with a “whatever it takes” mindset.
- A strong focus on ownership and execution, with the appropriate level of drive to deliver results and meet targets.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and adapt work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.
- Strong technical skills; knowledge of Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo or any equivalent tools.
