The Gogo Senior Quality Engineer is a key link in the quality of our supply chain and, in turn, the quality of our product. You will oversee the overall health of our key product lines by monitoring performance, identifying top trending issues and/or vendors, and working alongside internal and external teams to resolve the issues.
The ideal candidate understands data analytic techniques, has an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, can be innovative and collaborative in their approach to problem solving, and has previous engineering experience in the aerospace and/or aviation industry.

How will you make a difference?
- Analyze product performance, issue corrective actions as needed (supplier and internal), and utilize the relationships created within the supply chain and other cross functional teams to manage to completion
- Work alongside the supply chain team to develop productive supplier relationships with key suppliers
- Manage key tiered supplier audits (new and recurring) and certifications to remain compliant with AS9100 and internal procedures
- Lead and support Failure Review Board (FRB) and Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings to enhance product and service improvements.
- Oversee internal and external first article inspection review and approval per AS9102
- Administer quality records within Gogo’s Quality Management System Software
- Responsible for passing AS9100 Lead Auditor certification and perform internal audits on a quarterly basis along with following up to ensure systemic processes are corrected
- Conduct supplier audits including supplier evaluations (new and recurring), supplier selection, pre-conformity inspections, and First Article Inspections (AS9102)
- Work with cross functional teams including Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, Legal, and Operations in support of continuous improvement initiatives
- Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and submit Engineering Change Requests (ECR) as required and recommend internal and/or vendor design changes to improve quality and reliability
- Support and implement strategic initiatives around improved supplier quality performance and provide leadership in identifying opportunities and delivering solutions for improvements of metrics such as supplier acceptance rates and yield
- Perform stock sweeps to contain and quarantine non-conforming product in inventory
- Manage key vendor RMA product to ensure repeat issues do not propagate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline
- 4-7 years of relevant Operations or Quality experience
- Ability to travel up to ~10% (domestic and international)
Required Skills, Talents, & Experience
- Practical experience with manufacturing methods, preferably in electronics manufacturing
- Knowledge and ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient in statistical analysis methods including Proportions tests, T-tests, and Gage R&R’s
- Skilled in practical understanding and application of risk analysis techniques including Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
Preferred Skills, Talents, & Experience
- Lean Six Sigma certification or Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality / process improvement tools
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Understanding of practical application of Cost of Quality model & driving metrics to reduce cost of poor quality integrated with practical experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 based Quality Management System
- Proven ability to use basic data analysis tools including Excel and Word
- Ability to quickly learn and develop new processes
- Demonstrated practical experience in effectively leading others through structured problem-solving exercises.
- Self-driven to achieve defined goals and metrics, requiring minimal supervision.
- Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to multi-task & handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
