THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Quality Engineer to own mobile quality across our React Native applications — member-facing apps, a staff and concierge application, and a partner application. The role combines hands-on manual testing on physical devices with the automated coverage and shared test tooling that supports every release. Because the applications share a React Native codebase, automation built once benefits all of them. Quality Engineering is organized by product domain, so you own mobile everywhere it appears. The role supports both manual and automated testing using tools such as Playwright, Maestro or Detox, Claude, and Cursor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own manual and automated test coverage for our mobile applications across iOS and Android, including exploratory, functional, and regression testing on physical devices
- Establish and maintain the shared mobile test automation framework, the supported device and operating-system matrix, and mobile jobs within the existing CI pipeline
- Support mobile release activities — regression sign-off, store submission validation, upgrade and migration paths, and post-release verification
- Test platform-specific behavior including offline states, permissions, push notifications, and deep links
- Investigate and triage native defects using crash reports, device logs, and platform diagnostics
- Apply AI-assisted testing tools — AI-generated test cases, self-healing scripts, visual regression detection — to expand coverage and catch defects earlier
- Partner with the mobile engineers and with Quality Engineering peers who own the web surfaces of the same products
- Be the voice of the member by effectively escalating production issues and suggesting product improvements
- Maintain test cases, coverage reporting, and defect documentation to the standards used across the Quality Engineering team
- Other duties as assigned.
