At Web Hosting Canada (WHC), we’re passionate about helping Canadians succeed online with reliable, locally focused web hosting services. Since 2003, we’ve empowered businesses and individuals with top-notch websites, domains, and email solutions.
If you’re looking for a dynamic, caring environment and are excited about shaping the infrastructure products businesses use every day, we’d love to have you join our team.
This is a fully remote role open to candidates worldwide, with the opportunity to collaborate closely with teammates across different regions and time zones.
WHC is looking for a strategic, hands-on, and technically fluent Senior Product Owner, IaaS to own the roadmap and backlog for our core infrastructure products, including VPS, Cloud, dedicated servers, DNS, and the capabilities that support them. These are the products our most technical customers rely on to deploy applications, websites, businesses, and increasingly, AI workloads.
Reporting to the Product Manager, you’ll partner closely with Engineering, Marketing, Customer Care, and other stakeholders to ensure we’re solving the right problems, building the right things, and shipping meaningful improvements for our customers. This is a senior product role for someone who can combine customer insight, technical fluency, business judgment, and strong execution, shaping strategy while staying hands-on enough to write clear specs, QA releases, and dig into the details when something looks off.
- Own and drive the roadmap and backlog for WHC’s IaaS products, including VPS, Cloud, dedicated servers, DNS, and supporting infrastructure capabilities.
- Prioritize product work based on customer needs, business impact, technical realities, strategic objectives, and financial considerations.
- Build strong business cases for product opportunities, including clear problem definition, customer impact, financial implications, and expected outcomes.
- Drive product initiatives from discovery through launch, including scoping, specifications, stakeholder alignment, trade-off decisions, release readiness, and post-launch follow-up.
- Spend meaningful time with customers, support insights, usage data, and market signals to identify well-framed problems and product opportunities.
- Partner closely with Engineering to understand technical trade-offs and ensure product decisions are grounded in architecture, reliability, scalability, and operational realities.
- Partner with Marketing and Customer Care to support positioning, launch readiness, customer communications, and internal enablement.
- Use data, AI tools, vendor insights, and hands-on product testing to improve decisions, execution, quality, and the future direction of WHC’s infrastructure products.
- 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, with ownership of infrastructure, developer-facing, B2B SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, cloud, hosting, or similarly technical products.
- A proven ability to own products from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement, with accountability for customer and business outcomes.
- Strong technical fluency, including the ability to understand infrastructure concepts, architecture diagrams, deployment workflows, and engineering trade-offs.
- Strong business judgment, with the ability to assess opportunities through customer value, revenue potential, gross margin, utilization, pricing, packaging, and operational impact.
- A customer-first mindset, with the ability to translate feedback, support insights, and data into clear product problems and practical solutions.
- Strong execution skills, including the ability to write clear specs, manage priorities, unblock teams, QA releases, and keep momentum in a lean, hands-on environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to write clearly, challenge ideas constructively, and align technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with web hosting, VPS, cloud servers, dedicated servers, DNS, domains, email infrastructure, WordPress, developer tools, or adjacent internet services.
- Experience working in a subscription-based business with recurring revenue, usage patterns, churn, pricing, packaging, and margin considerations.
- Experience managing vendor or partner relationships in a technical product environment.
- Exposure to cybersecurity, compliance, data sovereignty, infrastructure reliability, or performance management in a customer-facing technology business.
- Experience using AI tools and agentic workflows to improve product management, research, analysis, documentation, prototyping, or execution.
- Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset, especially when working with bilingual customers and teammates.
- The opportunity to shape infrastructure products used by tens of thousands of businesses.
- A collaborative team culture where your work is visible, your decisions matter, and your impact is meaningful.
- Product is close to the action. WHC is founder-led; our CEO remains closely connected to the product function and customer feedback, so product decisions stay connected to real customer needs, not layers of bureaucracy.
- An independent company with a clear market identity, loyal customer base, and strong focus on helping Canadians succeed online.
- An AI-forward environment where we are actively exploring how AI can improve how we build, operate, support customers, and evolve our products.
- Competitive compensation with a fully remote work model.
- Access to training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities.
- Certified a Great Place to Work® for five years running, because we believe work should be fun, fulfilling, and rewarding.
If you’re a thoughtful, high-ownership product leader who understands infrastructure, cares deeply about customers, and knows how to turn insight into execution, we want to hear from you.
Apply today and help us continue building reliable, locally focused infrastructure products that help Canadians succeed online!
