Coder is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to help us shape how we sell, position, and communicate the value of Coder to the market. This role will play a crucial part in enabling our sales team with compelling content, sales plays, and messaging that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is a senior-level role for someone with deep expertise in developer tooling and can translate technical concepts into persuasive, easy-to-understand messaging. You should have an understanding of the software development lifecycle, be familiar with cloud-native development, and have experience working with developer and platform engineering audiences.

What you bring

  • Deep technical expertise: You’re more technical than your average product marketer. You understand cloud-native ecosystems, developer workflows, and DevOps principles, and you can confidently communicate with technical and business audiences alike.

  • Strong writing skills: You’re a skilled communicator who can write long-form and short-form content with equal precision. Whether it’s a whitepaper, a sales deck, or a tweet, you know how to deliver impact with the right amount of words.

  • Sales experience & customer interaction: You’ve worked closely with senior sales teams and know how to create compelling narratives that resonate in the field. You’re comfortable interacting with customers, analysts, and prospects, ensuring our messaging meets market needs.

  • Agility & prioritization: You can context-switch, moving between projects while maintaining high-quality execution. You know how to prioritize ruthlessly, balancing deep work with rapid-fire tactical needs.

  • Self-sufficiency & asking for help: You thrive in an autonomous role where we trust you to do the right thing. But you also know when to ask for help if you’re overwhelmed; we value transparency and teamwork.

  • Bias for action: You move quickly and experiment often, pushing forward without getting stuck in analysis paralysis. You understand that perfect is the enemy of progress, and you’re not afraid to test and iterate.

What you’ll do here

  • Craft compelling sales narratives, decks, battle cards, and competitive assets that help sellers clearly communicate Coder’s value

  • Build targeted sales plays based on common use cases to accelerate pipeline and deal velocity in collaboration with AEs and SEs

  • Equip the field to lead effective conversations on developer experience, cloud security, and cost optimization with technical and executive buyers

  • Translate technical capabilities into clear customer value, ensuring messaging resonates with both decision-makers and end users

  • Develop enablement materials that keep GTM teams aligned on product updates, roadmap changes, and positioning shifts

  • Partner with sales leadership to identify messaging gaps and create high-impact content for developers, platform teams, CISOs, and CIOs

  • Create high-quality content—decks, blogs, case studies, whitepapers—that showcases Coder’s impact in real-world workflows

  • Lead customer and partner webinars that highlight success stories, best practices, and Coder’s unique value in the CDE market

  • Attend industry conferences and field events to promote Coder, support the sales team, and engage directly with prospective customers and partners

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing with a strong focus on sales enablement

  • Experience in developer tooling, cloud platforms, or DevOps technologies; you understand the SDLC and the tools developers use daily

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for both technical and executive audiences

  • Proven ability to create high-quality sales and marketing materials—sales decks, battle cards, competitive positioning guides, and whitepapers

  • Experience working with enterprise buyers and understanding how to sell to both technical and business stakeholders

  • A portfolio showcasing marketing content, sales enablement materials, or go-to-market strategies you’ve developed

Bonus tacos if you have

  • (Tacos? If you need an ice-breaker, ask how we say thanks by giving tacos!)

  • Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and emerging developer tools; curious and willing to experiment to uncover insights and proof points.

  • Experience with open-source developer tools—familiarity with CDEs, Terraform, Kubernetes, or similar tech

  • Hands-on technical knowledge—you don’t need to be a developer, but understanding the developer mindset is critical

  • Experience working in high-growth startup environments—you’re adaptable and thrive in fast-paced settings

Interview process

We believe that the interview process should be transparent, consistent, and enjoyable. We value your time and hope to complete the interview process in two to four weeks, if schedules allow. Through your interviews, you will meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders.

AI use during the interview process

As an AI company, Coder embraces the use of AI tools, and we want to be transparent about our expectations as you navigate our interview process.

Not permitted: Using AI assistance during conversational interviews.

Permitted: Using AI tooling for take-home assessments. Please flag where and to what extent it was used in your take-home. Your submission will not be penalized for using AI as long as it is done honestly.

Our use of AI in hiring

We use AI tools to help manage our recruitment process efficiently and fairly. Specifically:

  • Ashby helps us review inbound applications by surfacing candidates who best match the role requirements we've defined. This tool does not make hiring decisions - it helps our team prioritize which applications to review first.

  • Granola takes notes during our interview calls so our team can focus on the conversation with you.

All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws. Your data is not used to train AI models.

In accordance with New York City Local Law 144, an independent bias audit has been conducted on "Automated Employment Decision Tools"; results are available for Ashby.

If you're applying for a role at Coder and have questions about how we use AI in our process, or if you'd like to request information about the data we collect, please contact [email protected].
