Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our billing, payments, and account management systems. This is a high-impact role owning key workflows such as invoicing, dunning, payment processing, subscription management, and cash forecasting for our consumer business lines. You’ll partner closely with engineering, finance, operations, and analytics to build scalable, reliable payment infrastructure and improve conversion, retention, and revenue metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product vision and roadmap for billing, payments, dunning, invoicing, and subscription lifecycle workflows across consumer and institutional channels.
- Identify and close revenue leakage opportunities in payment processing, failed transactions, retries, chargebacks, and upgrade/downgrade flows.
- Improve payment success to reduce payment-related churn through optimization of retry logic, alternative payment methods, app-store integrations, and global payment support.
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Data Science to build scalable infrastructure for payments routing, reconciliation, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Support monetization teams with pricing tests, plan differentiation, family bundles, and packaging strategies that create incremental revenue, avoiding cannibalization.
- Develop tools, frameworks, and telemetry that allow data-driven pricing and bundling decisions across markets and platforms.
- Lead the modernization of our accounts system (login, authentication, entitlements, multi-child profiles), ensuring scalability, reliability, and improved UX.
- Evaluate the current account architecture, partnering with engineering leadership to define the long-term refactor plan.
- Collaborate with PMs who own parent onboarding and activation flows to ensure seamless account creation, family workflows, and subscription linking across devices.
- Build strong alignment across Monetization, Retention, Finance, Engineering, Customer Support, and Legal/Compliance.
- Drive execution from discovery through delivery, ensuring clear documentation of requirements, success metrics, testing plans, and launch criteria.
- Partner with Finance and Ops on cash forecasting, DSO/AR improvements, reconciliation workflows, and reporting accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of product management experience with at least 3 years in payments, billing, subscription lifecycle, fintech, or account/identity management systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience defining and owning metrics, and making data-driven product decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional product development (engineering, finance, operations, risk) and to translate business and technical requirements into clear product deliverables.
- Familiarity with payment systems, gateway integrations, subscription billing logic, invoices, dunning/collections workflows, payment reconciliation, and cash flow forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex workflows to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related analytical/technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a direct-to-consumer subscription business or ed-tech/digital subscription product.
- Background in account systems, identity, or membership platforms used across multi-device ecosystems.
- Familiarity with global payment methods, multi-currency pricing, tax and regulatory compliance in payments (e.g., VAT/GST, PCI-DSS).
- Experience with financial forecasting (DSO, AR aging), revenue recognition, and reducing payment-related churn or leakage.
- Master’s degree in business, finance, or technical discipline.
Total Compensation:
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $170,000 USD to $195,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
