Lead strategy, roadmap, and commercialization for API Gateway and shared platform services. Partner with engineering and product teams to design scalable, reliable APIs, drive adoption and monetization, track platform health metrics, prioritize investments, and deliver developer tooling and documentation to reduce integration friction and enable portfolio-wide reuse.
Daxko builds the software that powers fitness, wellness, and community organizations—everything from member management and payments to digital engagement and analytics. From small studios to the largest associations, we help thousands of fitness businesses streamline operations, enhance member experiences, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
The Senior Product Manager, Common Services is the leader and end-to-end owner for the shared platform capabilities that power Daxko's portfolio of health, fitness, and wellness software solutions, including API Gateway, API productization, and other common services consumed by internal product teams, customers, and partners across Nonprofit, Club, and Boutique.
This role reports to a Director of Product Management and is dedicated to building reusable, scalable, and commercially viable infrastructure with a metrics-driven mindset, balancing internal platform leverage with external monetization opportunity. This role is responsible for driving the API and Common Services vision, roadmap, and commercialization strategy, and the achievement of adoption, revenue, reliability, and platform-leverage goals. This work also supports Daxko's AI strategy: clean APIs, reliable data access, and well-designed shared services enable AI features and agent-driven experiences across the portfolio, rather than each product bolting them on separately.
You are the API and platform expert to the rest of the organization for Common Services. As the leader for this domain, you will develop and execute the strategy for API Gateway capabilities and shared services, including packaging and pricing models for customer and partner API access, working directly with engineering leadership and product managers across all three markets to identify reuse, adoption, and revenue opportunities, including AI-powered access and agent workflows. This includes ensuring that new common services are designed for maximum leverage across the portfolio and, where appropriate, direct commercial value to the customers and partners who consume them.
You are also responsible for the overall lifecycle of Common Services, which includes gathering and prioritizing requirements from internal product teams, customers, and partners, determining the right mix of platform investments that will maximize portfolio-wide leverage and commercial return, working with engineering on delivery, and confirming that the result meets integration, reliability, and monetization requirements across all three audiences.
Why this job is exciting:
You'll own the infrastructure that every product team at Daxko builds on top of, and you'll have the chance to turn that infrastructure into a monetizable product in its own right. Instead of shipping features for one market, you'll shape how APIs, gateways, and shared services work across our entire multi-brand portfolio, directly influencing how fast every product team can move, how well our products work together for customers and partners, and how we create new revenue from the platform itself.
What will you do?
- Define and drive the API Gateway and Common Services roadmap, balancing near-term product team needs with long-term platform architecture
- Define and execute a commercialization strategy for customer and partner API access, including packaging, pricing, and go-to-market approach for API and Common Services offerings
- Partner with engineering to design and deliver scalable, reliable, well-documented APIs and shared services
- Serve as the internal expert on platform capabilities, advising product managers across markets on what to build once versus what to build per-product
- Establish and track platform health metrics (API adoption, reliability, latency, integration time, revenue) and use them to prioritize investment
- Gather and prioritize requirements from internal product teams, customers, and partners, translating diverse needs into a coherent shared roadmap
- Drive documentation, developer tooling, and onboarding standards that reduce integration friction for internal teams, customers, and partners building on top of Common Services
- Evaluate build-vs-reuse tradeoffs for new platform capabilities, working with engineering on technical approach and feasibility
- Identify legacy technologies and services that no longer earn their keep, and retire them responsibly, partnering with product, marketing, and sales on a clean, well-communicated transition for affected customers and partners
- Drive adoption of shared services across product teams, customers, and partners, reducing duplicate infrastructure and creating new revenue opportunities
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Platform & API Commercialization – Demonstrate a track record of success managing platform, API, or shared-services products in B2B environments, including packaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy for customer- and partner-facing offerings
- Technical Depth – Strong understanding of API design, API gateway architecture, and platform/service-oriented patterns; able to work directly with engineering on technical tradeoffs without translation loss
- Cross-Portfolio Thinking – Understand how shared capabilities create leverage across different market segments and product lines, and can make build-once-vs-build-per-product calls
- Stakeholder Management – Balance competing requirements from internal product teams, customers, and partners into a single coherent platform roadmap
- Data-Driven Prioritization – Use platform health, adoption, and revenue metrics to justify investment decisions, not just feature requests
- Cross-functional Leadership – Lead and drive execution across Engineering, Product Management, and Architecture
- Drive & Grit – Operate in a fast-paced environment with a focus and determination to achieve high-quality results
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in B2B software Product Management, with meaningful time spent on platform, API, or infrastructure products
- Demonstrated experience working directly with engineering teams on API design, gateway architecture, platform services, or API monetization/pricing models
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in multi-product or multi-brand SaaS portfolios
- Background building customer- or partner-facing API programs, developer platforms, or API monetization/pricing models
- Pragmatic Marketing certified or related product management certification
