The Compute, Storage, Mainframe & HP team is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to drive our automation and federated asset management strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, eliminating manual work, delivering high quality reporting visualizations, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.
Role:
In this role you will, • Provides technical leadership over multiple operating areas that impact data, network, communication and computing platform technologies to ensure optimal performance• Translates organizational vision and champions new and innovative strategic changes across Mastercard technology environments• Identifies process gaps within Mastercard technology, innovates and develops roadmaps solutions to address complex technical issues and improve efficiencies in existing platforms and drives that change in infrastructure• Innovates Mastercard's procedures to ensure optimal safeguard processes are in place and running efficiently for hosted production systems• Leads and guides design teams through complex builds to solidify platform capabilities and introduce innovative concepts• Challenges status quo, driving cutting edge technology and innovation, and demonstrates thought leadership to operationalize and automate next generation platforms, providing technical direction to Mastercard leadership around emerging trends and integrating cutting edge technical solutions• Ensures controls over material risks are appropriately designed and are monitored for effectiveness on a ongoing basis

The ideal candidate for this position should:• Design, build, and maintain automation solutions for mission-critical payment platforms using modern tooling (e.g., Ansible, Python, and other scripting).• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI or similar) that provide clear visibility into hardware and software inventory, health, capacity, and lifecycle status across multiple payment platforms.• Partner with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to modernize operational workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability and consistency on legacy systems.• Establish standards and best practices for automation, monitoring, and configuration management in traditionally non-cloud-native environments.• Analyze platform data to identify optimization opportunities, technical debt, and modernization candidates while ensuring security, compliance, and high availability requirements for payment processing.• Serve as a technical leader and mentor, advocating for a modern engineering mindset and helping teams bridge legacy technologies with contemporary engineering practices.
