The Senior Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, manage staff, improve processes, and ensure program alignment and support across teams.
Vocal is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Manager of Operations to support our growing team. In this position, you will play a critical role in managing the smooth execution of our daily operations — working to build, run, and continuously improve the systems that power our work. This is a full-time role through November 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilites
- Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of operational processes across the organization, in close partnership with senior leadership
- Manage and mentor operations staff, providing direction, feedback, and support on day-to-day priorities
- Serve as a key liaison between the sales and programs teams — facilitating clear communication, alignment on shared workflows, and timely resolution of cross-functional needs
- Own operational needs across programs, ensuring teams have the systems, tools, and support required to execute effectively
- Support programs directly as needed — including onboarding coordination, account setup, and process implementation
- Oversee tool implementation and new workflows, leading operational infrastructure projects that supports the broader team
- Hold a high bar for speed and quality, with a consistent focus on tangible, measurable results
- Proactively identify inefficiencies across the organization and lead the implementation of solutions that improve how we work.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in operations, project management, organizing, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience managing staff and leading cross-functional teams or workstreams
- Strong understanding of how sales and program operations intersect, with experience facilitating alignment across teams
- Proven ability to build, scale, and document operational systems across an organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of follow-through and stakeholder management
- Strong time management and prioritization skills — comfortable owning multiple workstreams and competing priorities under strict deadlines
- Proficiency with Notion, Google Drive, and Airtable; ability to quickly onboard to new tools
- Strong attention to detail and a self-directed, solutions-oriented working style
- A sense of humor, humility, passion for progressive political issues, and desire to be a team player.
