This role is embedded within the Power Segment Strategy team and will play a leadership role in long-range strategic planning, market and portfolio strategy, and segment-level growth initiatives that influence the future direction of our businesses. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic judgment, structured problem solving, executive communication skills, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to both high-level strategic discussions and debate and tactical “hands on” logistics (e.g. slide making, memo writing, etc.).
This is a high-impact role for a GE Vernova leader who can independently own discreet strategic workstreams, influence senior stakeholders, and own ad hoc strategic initiatives end to end. This person must at the same time be willing to “roll up their sleeves” to develop analyses, build materials, and support execution when needed. Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Analysis
Support the Power segment’s long-term strategy (LTS) process, including helping shape strategic narratives, market perspectives, growth priorities, and investment themes.
Own and drive select strategy workstreams and ad hoc high-priority initiatives, often with broad scope, ambiguity, and senior leadership visibility.
Partner with the Strategy Leader and senior business leadership to evaluate portfolio choices, strategic tradeoffs, and growth opportunities.
Support segment strategy team’s liaison and collaboration with both corporate strategy/strategic initiatives as well as provide strategic insight and support to business unit-level strategy, as requested
Develop and refine executive-level strategy materials, including leadership presentations, decision memos, Board-level content, and other senior stakeholder communications.
Build and support financial analyses, business cases, scenario analyses, and strategic options assessments to evaluate growth opportunities, partnerships, and other strategic priorities.
Own discrete strategic initiatives or sub-workstreams, including framing problems, structuring analyses, synthesizing findings, and helping drive alignment on recommendations.
Growth, BD/M&A, Ventures and Ecosystem Engagement
Support segment BD/M&A, partnership, venture, and startup engagement initiatives in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Identify, assess, and help advance strategic growth opportunities, including adjacencies, partnerships, inorganic opportunities, and innovation-driven initiatives.
Conduct technology and innovation landscaping across climate tech, AI, digital, and adjacent energy ecosystems to inform strategic direction and investment priorities.
Translate emerging technology, venture, and startup trends into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations for the segment.
Contribute external perspective and ecosystem awareness that helps the business anticipate disruption and respond proactively.
Transformation & Strategic Initiatives
Support segment-level transformation initiatives, including development of new processes, operating mechanisms, and ways of working to enable the next generation of growth.
Contribute meaningfully to Hoshin activities focused on growth and innovation; help formalize a structured program startup engagement at Power in partnership with the corporate ventures team.
Help translate strategy into execution by developing actionable roadmaps, clarifying ownership, and supporting alignment across key stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with Corporate, Finance, Commercial, Technology, and business teams to inform strategy development and execution.
Track strategic initiatives, milestones, action items, and interdependencies to help maintain momentum and accountability across planning and execution cycles.
Personally drive critical work products when needed, including development of slides, executive memos, analyses, and meeting materials, with a willingness to step into detailed execution to maintain speed, quality, and momentum.
Attend relevant industry conferences and summits, gaining critical 3rd party/ “outside-in” perspectives on market trends, innovation, technologies, etc.
Strategy Planning Enablement
Lead coordination of strategy planning activities and key forums, including agendas, scheduling, logistics, pre-reads, synthesis of inputs, and follow-up actions for strategy summits, leadership reviews, and offsites.
Execute the operating cadence and core deliverables for the long-term strategy process, including maintaining the LTS master storyline and key materials, driving version control, and ensuring high-quality outputs across workstreams and stakeholder inputs
Establish and manage team working processes for strategic planning and reviews, including tracking milestones, action items, dependencies, and decision points across planning cycles and major initiatives.
Support the preparation of decision-ready materials and help ensure outputs are aligned, cohesive, and responsive to stakeholder feedback.
Basic Qualifications
Significant experience in corporate strategy, product management, corporate/business development, management consulting, venture capital/startup leadership, investment banking, or related roles; typically 8+ years with demonstrated progression in scope and leadership.
Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional workstreams from framing through recommendation and execution support.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong executive presence and the ability to create clear, compelling materials for senior leadership.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. Robust network of either internal GEV leaders or external network of energy ecosystem contacts
Fluency in English.
Deep personal curiosity and experimentation with AI tools, with current perspectives on relevant technology developments and implications for strategy and transformation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the energy, industrials, climate tech, AI, and software sectors.
Strong financial modeling and business case development capabilities.
Deep familiarity with climate tech ecosystems and current innovation trends in energy and adjacent sectors.
Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Engineering, or equivalent).
Experience with strategy planning processes in large, global organizations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and influence decisions in complex organizations.
Experience mentoring or leading junior team members, whether through formal people leadership or project/team leadership.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $134,000.00 and $223,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
