Engineering Excellence & Operations
  • Drive technical excellence by guiding architecture decisions, promoting best practices, and contributing to system design and code reviews.

  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in engineering workflows, technical processes, and system performance.

  • Establish processes, tools, and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and reliability.

Analytics Enablement & Insights
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, software engineering, infrastructure, and data science teams to deliver business value through high-quality data systems.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.

  • Implement best practices for agile development, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team culture aligned with Kueski’s values.

Job Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering roles, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or people management capacity.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, data architectures, and real-time/batch processing.

  • Deep experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and big data tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, EMR, S3, and Redshift.

  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and secure data practices.

  • Proven track record of driving large-scale technical projects from design through execution.

  • Experience mentoring other engineers and fostering technical excellence within a team.
