As Scout’s Capital Markets Senior Manager, you will play an integral role in capital raising activities for our growing portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects. We expect a high volume of transactions and are expanding the team to support that growth.

In this position, you will play a key role in project finance, corporate finance, and capital recycling transactions. Your work will include a combination of engagement with capital providers (debt, tax equity, and equity), transaction development and execution, and collaboration with teams across the organization. Your deal-oriented mindset will enable you to craft optimal capital solutions, identify and manage diligence risks, and efficiently drive transactions to close – all while integrating the Scout Values in the way you work and relate to others.

Key duties in your role will include the following:

  • Own transactions across the investment lifecycle – from origination to due diligence, definitive documentation, and deal closing.
  • Develop compelling transaction marketing materials for distribution to prospective lenders and investors.
  • Analyze and negotiate term sheets and proposals to support recommendations for optimal financing structures to senior management.
  • Oversee transaction models for debt, tax equity, and other equity processes.
  • Oversee transaction due diligence and interface with external financing parties and consultants.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external counsel, advisors, and providers of debt, tax equity, and equity capital to optimize our project financings.
  • Drive on-time conclusion of approval and closing processes by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

You will report to the Director of Capital Markets. You will be a tight-knit and efficient group that collaborates effectively to execute transactions. Our team’s work style requires both collaborative and independent work at all levels; the Senior Manager would engage in a combination of doing work independently and overseeing the work of others, growing into a manager for junior associates.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in renewables investment banking and/or the renewable energy industry, with a focus on tax equity and debt structures. Experience in utility-scale renewable energy finance (> 80 MW per project) is preferred.
  • Experience in closing renewables capital markets transactions (tax equity, project debt, corporate debt, M&A).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VBA), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Independent learner who can quickly apply lessons learned in one area to all other work areas.
  • Self-motivator with exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver top-quality work product in multiple areas without direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High emotional IQ – strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties.
  • Authorized to work in the United States. (This position is not eligible for sponsorship.)
