Job Description:

   

The Leader of Operations for Global Marketing & Communications (GMC) is a critical operational and strategic role responsible for driving clarity, accountability, and operational excellence across the GMC organization. This role oversees workflow management, governance, cross-organizational coordination, operating cadence, strategic forums, and integration of AI into operational processes across GMC campaign PODs and cross-functional teams. The leader will serve as a connector across teams, ensuring disciplined, high-quality execution, predictable operations, and mechanisms that scale.  The role is accountable for reducing execution risk and ambiguity, enabling practical, informed decision-making across GMC and operating with foresight when operating model is stress‑tested or unclear – creating and communicating clarity that enables fast, consistent and confident execution.

Responsibilities:

Operational Frameworks & Governance
  • Build, maintain, and optimize end-to-end campaign POD operating models, Marketing & Communications cross-functional workflows and RACIs that drive execution discipline, reduce execution risk and eliminate ambiguity across GMC.

  • Lead cross-organizational process alignment and governance that enables seamless, predictable execution globally.

  • Oversee campaign processes and governance, including workback planning, decision rights, sequencing, and dependencies.

  • Manage and maintain policy and governance standards owned by the GMC organization.

  • Act as primary liaison to corporate governance including business resiliency cross-enterprise projects, ensuring GMC alignment and representation.

Operating Cadence & Decision Protocols

  • Collaborate and drive the overall GMC operating cadence, including sequencing how leadership and POD forums, business reviews, planning cycles, and prioritization rhythms fit together to ensure efficient decision-making, reduced rework and predictable global execution.

  • Define and maintain decision-making protocols, roles, and escalation pathways; run cross-functional forums with clear charters and outcomes.

  • Manage the tools and experiences including sharepoint, collaboration tools, project planning tools used to enable knowledge management, communication and program tracking across GMC organizations.

  • Ensure strong workbacks, templates, accountability models, and centralized documentation.

AI Strategy & Implementation

  • Consult on and advance AI strategy for GMC Business Operations, identifying opportunities to integrate generative AI, automation, and intelligent workflows.

  • Partner cross-functionally to pilot, implement, and scale AI-enabled planning, reporting and decision-support capabilities across campaign PODs and the broader GMC organization.

  • Leverage data, automation, and AI to improve insight quality while materially reducing cycle time, manual effort, and leadership friction across campaigns and GMC operations.

Culture, Collaboration & Team Development

  • Manage the team responsible for GMC Business Operations and governance, including maturing "how we work" through intentional coaching, frameworks, and role clarity.

  • Foster a problem-solving and collaborative culture, encouraging curiosity, best-practice sharing, and operational excellence.

  • Strengthen how campaign pods operate by reinforcing shared standards, continuous improvement, and consistent ways of working across GMC.

  • Support capability-building, ensuring team members develop strong understanding of marketing & communications functions.

Education and Experience Required:

  • BA or BS in Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years in marketing operations, strategy, program management, or organizational operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence in complex, matrixed environments.

  • Experience developing governance models, workflows, and org-wide operating cadences.

  • Strong communication, executive presence, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Understanding of marketing & communications disciplines; ability to connect operational needs to functional realities.

  • Experience with AI tools, workflow automation, and digital transformation preferred.

  • Mastery knowledge of marketing principles, practices, tactics and tools.

  • Mastery knowledge of marketing activities, practices and procedures.

  • Superior knowledge of and/or experience in business and marketing strategies.
