Break the Mold to Enable Next Generation IT Operations

We’re scaling an aerospace program fast and need an owner who treats IT like a product. You’ll build guardrails and automation across the hangar, labs, and flight line so engineers stay unblocked. Your mandate is reliable networks, clean device management, and incident response that is fast, repeatable, and measurable. The payoff is simple—teams ship faster because they don’t have to think about IT.

Role Overview

  • Translate executive visions into innovative IT strategies, aligning technical initiatives with business objectives and deadlines.
  • Lead and scale a generalist IT team in a pre-revenue environment, focusing on robust infrastructure and seamless user experiences.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets, vendor negotiations, and spending tracking to align with strategic business goals.
  • Architect campus networking solutions, implementing and optimizing switching, routing, VLANs, and wireless security.
  • Oversee Identity & Access Management, ensuring secure and efficient SSO platform integration.
  • Manage desktop and endpoint solutions across Linux, macOS, and Windows, leveraging MDM for consistent device policy enforcement.
  • Streamline cloud and hybrid systems management, enhancing IaaS and SaaS performance and scalability.
  • Ensure robust data storage and backup systems, balancing on-premise and cloud solutions for optimal protection.
  • Elevate helpdesk operations by refining ticketing, SLAs, and escalation processes to maximize self-service capabilities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced in early-stage environments, capable of forming and scaling generalist teams.
  • Broadly skilled across IT domains, blending technical fluency with excellent decision-making capability.
  • Proficient in process optimization, automation, and workflow tools, reducing toil and increasing team efficiency.
  • Adept at IT supply chain management, overseeing hardware standards, procurement, and inventory control.
  • Familiar with security principles and practices, ready to scale into security leadership responsibilities.
  • Thrives as a player-coach, staying hands-on with day-to-day IT work and actively resolving tickets while leading and mentoring the team.
  • Operates with a high customer service mindset, treating internal teams as valued customers and focusing on enablement rather than gatekeeping.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with a talent for maintaining clarity and calm.
  • Excellent communicator with strong documentation skills to support knowledge management and team alignment.
  • Personable and service-oriented, fostering a collaborative work environment and delivering top-tier customer service.
  • A strategic thinker who focuses on impactful problems, channeling energy where it yields the highest business value.
  • A partner-leader who removes friction, unblocks progress, and gracefully balances patience with urgency.

Compensation

The Base Salary Range for this position is $153,000 - $193,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
