The Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of data center management solutions, focusing on automation, monitoring, and capacity planning. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical skills in both data center power infrastructure and software development, with expert proficiency in Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, specifically Sunbird DCIM. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader capable of managing a team to implement and standardize monitoring solutions across all our global data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Execution & Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom code and scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for data center automation, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring high reliability and scalability.

  • Lead the integration of monitoring data from various sources, including specialized hardware like Packet Power sensors, into the central DC Track system and Sunbird DCIM.

  • Develop and deploy critical dashboards using Sunbird DCIM or other visualization tools to provide real-time, actionable insights into power utilization, cooling efficiency, and capacity across all data centers.

  • Deep understanding and practical experience with data center electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., UPS, Generators, PDU, CRAC/CRAH units), and translating this knowledge into effective DCIM configuration and monitoring.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Sunbird DCIM, managing its configuration, upgrades, and optimization to ensure it accurately reflects the physical and logical infrastructure.

Team Leadership & Project Management:

  • Manage and mentor a small team of engineers and technicians dedicated to the DCIM implementation and deployment across the global data center footprint.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to successfully standardize the DCIM and monitoring platform across all data centers.

  • Ensure all data integration and dashboard development efforts adhere to strict quality, security, and performance standards.

  • Collaborate with Data Center Operations, Facilities, and Capacity Planning teams to define monitoring requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Strategy & Documentation:

  • Define the long-term strategy for data center monitoring and automation, evaluating new technologies and methodologies to improve operational efficiency.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for all developed code, integration processes, DCIM configurations, and operational procedures.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to data acquisition, DCIM functionality, and sensor integration, providing high-level support and resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

DCIM/Power

  • Sunbird DCIM (DC Track): Expert/Master proficiency

  • Data Center Power and Cooling Infrastructure (UPS, PDU, CRAC): Expert proficiency

  • Integration with Sensor Data (e.g., Packet Power): Expert proficiency

Programming

  • Advanced programming skills (Python strongly preferred): Expert proficiency

Data/DB

  • Experience with SQL databases and API integration (REST, SOAP): Advanced proficiency

Leadership

  • Team leadership, mentoring, and project management: Advanced proficiency

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years experience in data center operations or engineering: Required

  • Minimum 3 years experience specifically with DCIM tools: Required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field: Required

The pay range for this role is $82,600-$137,600. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
