The Senior Informaticist completes and coordinates with other analytics, IT and business areas across the organization to ensure business processes and strategy decisions are being made based on the best data and knowledge possible. The Senior Informaticist work assignments involves complex issues where the analysis of situations, processes, or data requires an in-depth evaluation of business factors, root causes, and data.
The Senior Informaticist leverages their advanced knowledge of opportunity elicitation, data assimilation, root cause discovery, business acumen, relationship building, and analytics tools. The role will build new approaches and innovative new approaches in provider scoring and quality of care and take into context new concepts, strategies, and information. The position will build out solutions that create the foundation of monitoring financial, utilization, clinical and administrative health of our population. The position applies disciplined analytics for solution discovery, root cause, and evaluation of data and information to support efforts on improving operations, lowering healthcare cost, and improving quality. The role will require understanding and analysis of complex data, articulating to various units within the company at the appropriate level from both a technical and business value perspective. The role is expected to have an influence on the department’s strategy and tactics to deliver it. The role has free support to make decisions on complex issues regarding technical approach, program components, and performs work with high collaboration. The role will require someone solution and data curious to innovate on the design, creation, and implementation of informed decision making.
Responsibilities

Lead stakeholders in problem framing, requirement gathering, analysis, reporting, and insight development activities

Deliver proactive thought and information to improve how provider scoring, provider steerage, clinical quality, KPI monitoring, and related business use cases of are delivering value

Interpret and analyze quality of care measurement outcomes for reporting and insight discovery

Provide data and consultation to corporate personnel for the purpose of improving our financial position and the health and well-being of our members

Develop new reports and continually identify ways to improve current reports by increasing their value and usability

Identify and seek to resolve data anomalies and irregularities

Ensure full and clear documentation of business and technical processes and present them to stakeholders

Lend your perspectives on organizational culture, operating model, and process improvement activities
Key Accountabilities

20% Partnering as a subject matter expert on Humana Military strategy, tactics to deliver, and related solutions

20% Solve complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to and consult with decision-makers while creating new descriptive analytic measures, trends, and deep dives into root cause

20% Responsible for understanding the customers’ needs and pulling together the appropriate data to meet those needs

20% Build data, information, and knowledge in BI tools, presentations, and narratives to support objectives

20% Develop and maintain key relationships with multiple business areas

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analytics experience OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of data analytics experience

Experience with data mining, predictive modeling techniques and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions

Technical proficiency in SQL coding and data visualization tools preferably in Tableau and/or PowerBI
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals and senior leadership
-
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position

Successfully receive approval for government security clearance (Via National Background Investigation Services NBIS)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAS, Python, QlikView, Hadoop or similar tools

Prior experience in health insurance operations analytics

Experience working with health insurance operations related data to include enrollment, claims and/or billing

Experience with TRICARE and/or the military health care delivery system
-
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, group and/or project team environment

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$97,900 - $133,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
