As a highly acquisitive organization experiencing significant growth and geographic expansion, WVP is seeking a Senior Human Resource Business Partner to serve as a strategic advisor to operational leaders and a champion of our people strategy across the West region.
Position OverviewThe Human Resources Business Partner plays a critical role in helping WVP scale its business while preserving and strengthening the culture, engagement, and effectiveness of its teams. This individual serves as a trusted consultant to operational leadership, partnering closely with leaders across a diverse portfolio of veterinary hospitals to align people strategies with business objectives.
Success in this role requires the ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational outcomes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Senior HR Business Partner will leverage data, business insight, and deep people expertise to support workforce planning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and change management initiatives that enable both hospital and company performance.
As WVP continues to expand through acquisitions and market growth, the Senior HR Business Partner will play an instrumental role in integrating newly partnered hospitals, supporting leaders through change, and ensuring consistent and exceptional team member experience across the organization.
Key Areas of Impact
Strategic Business Partnership
Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing guidance and insight on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent strategies, leadership development, employee engagement, and change management. Partner with leaders to identify opportunities that strengthen team performance, improve retention, and support business growth.
Organizational Growth & Integration
Support the successful onboarding and integration of newly partnered hospitals by helping leaders and team members navigate organizational change while fostering alignment with WVP’s mission, values, and people practices. Act as a key partner in ensuring a seamless transition experience for employees and leaders alike.
Employee Experience & Engagement
Champion initiatives that strengthen engagement, retention, and team member satisfaction across the organization. Utilize employee feedback, engagement data, and workforce trends to identify opportunities and develop actionable strategies that enhance the overall employee experience.
Talent & Leadership Development
Partner with leaders to build high-performing teams through effective performance management, succession planning, leadership coaching, talent reviews, and development initiatives. Help cultivate leadership capabilities that support both individual and organizational success.
Employee Relations & Risk Management
Provide thoughtful guidance and support on complex employee relations matters while balancing business objectives, legal considerations, and employee experience. Partner with leaders to address workplace challenges, conduct investigations, manage performance concerns, and promote a culture of accountability and respect.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Leverage workforce analytics, organizational metrics, and business insights to identify trends, assess organizational health, and recommend solutions that drive meaningful business and people outcomes. Translate data into actionable recommendations for leaders and stakeholders.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
Maintain expertise in employment law, regulatory requirements, and people-related best practices across a multi-state environment. Ensure policies, programs, and practices support compliance while enabling operational effectiveness and organizational growth.

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years progressively responsible HR roles including experience or exposure to areas such as talent acquisition, talent management, learning & development, employee engagement, employee relations and benefit administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business Administration.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or the ability and willingness to work toward this goal, preferred.
- Firm understanding of employment law in a multistate environment.
- Extensive experience supporting a decentralized team of managers and Team Members.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of your time.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an ambassador with the unique ability to deescalate employee conflict and reinforce a respectful work environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The compensation range for this opportunity is $125,000 - $165,000. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location. Where required under applicable law, WVP provides eligible employees with paid sick leave, health emergency leave, and similar benefits programs, all in accordance with the requirements of state and local law depending on the location of the practice you support.
