You will work alongside a Technical Lead to build features, improve reliability and support customer deployments. The platform includes configurable interfaces, data ingestion, normalization, scheduling, calculations and reporting. Each customer has an isolated application and PostgreSQL database.
We are looking for an engineer who can independently investigate problems, deliver maintainable code and understand how changes affect customer data and operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain frontend features, backend services and APIs.
- Build and improve data-ingestion workflows involving APIs, SFTP, object storage and uploaded files.
- Implement data validation, normalization and useful error reporting.
- Maintain scheduled jobs with attention to retries, duplicate processing, time zones and business calendars.
- Write and optimize SQL and implement reviewed database migrations.
- Preserve versioned records, historical snapshots and audit trails.
- Implement server-side access controls and secure data handling.
- Create unit and integration tests for business-critical workflows.
- Investigate application and production issues, documenting causes and fixes.
- Participate in code reviews, releases and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with the Technical Lead and DevOps specialists on installation and upgrade issues.

- Strong backend and frontend development skills.
- Strong PostgreSQL and SQL fundamentals.
- Experience building and consuming APIs and integrating external systems.
- Experience with background processing, scheduled tasks and error handling.
- Practical knowledge of authentication, authorization and secure development.
- Experience writing automated tests and working with Git and CI/CD.
- Strong debugging skills across application code, databases and integrations.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned work within a small delivery team.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with financial data, investment operations or other data-intensive B2B products.
- Experience with AWS-hosted applications and customer-specific deployments.
- Familiarity with configurable interfaces and metadata-driven applications.
- Experience with append-only records, effective-dated data or slowly changing dimensions.
- Experience with document-processing workflows involving human review.
- Experience addressing findings from security assessments.
First 90 days
- Learn the application and independently deliver agreed fixes and features.
- Add meaningful tests to critical workflows.
- Improve the reliability and troubleshooting of selected integrations.
- Contribute to release documentation and repeatable deployment procedures.

Benefits
- Competitive base salary based on experience.
- Employer-sponsored medical insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
- Paid vacation, sick leave and company holidays.
- Company-provided equipment.
Benefits are subject to plan eligibility and company policies. Full details will be provided during the hiring process
