Senior Fullstack Engineer | Emerging Products

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Emerging Products team. This role is primarily backend-focused Java/Kotlin, with working proficiency in React/Javascript. You'll work closely with our data platform and reporting teams, as well as product designers and product owners, to build new products from the ground up.

Location — We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build the API layer that powers our product's data experience — REST and/or GraphQL endpoints.
• Java backend development to expose data-driven insights and scoring to the product surface.
• Build and maintain React-based UI components for dashboards and workflows — think forms, toggles, and status indicators rather than highly designed interfaces.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews as we take this product from early-stage to general availability.
• Troubleshoot production issues across the technical stack using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Participate in code reviews, document processes thoroughly, and contribute to cross-team initiatives as the team scales.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Java software development for product applications, or equivalent. Kotlin experience is a plus but not required.
• 2+ years of experience with React for front-end development; comfortable in building UI components (forms, toggles, basic interactions) is expected — this is not a design-system-owner role.
• 4+ years of experience working with highly scalable software systems.
• Experience leveraging AI tooling to accelerate software development.
• Working knowledge of a breadth of OOP design principles; expertise in scaling data structures and object-oriented design.
• Knowledge of API best practices and REST service development. GraphQL or gRPC is a plus.
• Comfortable writing and troubleshooting SQL.
• Relational database design and development experience.
• Exposure to distributed/streaming data concepts is a plus, not a requirement.
• Expert knowledge of quality testing practices, including front-end testing frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Starting pay depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. For roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, or Washington, the base salary hiring range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 per year.
