The Frontend Infrastructure team works to improve developer productivity and product quality at Thumbtack. We collaborate regularly with frontend engineers and the design systems team to deliver the tools and frameworks that make it easy for our engineers to create user experiences on the web that are accessible, performant, and secure.
The ChallengeAs a Frontend Engineer on Frontend Infrastructure, you’ll own large projects from conception to launch. You’ll work with other teams to gather feedback, identify problems, propose solutions, and measure success. You’ll play a key role in contributing to the roadmap and your work will impact both user and business goals.
What you'll do- Drive frontend infrastructure projects to completion, with a tenacious focus on the business impact of those projects.
- Work closely with frontend engineers, the design systems team, and other infrastructure teams to gather feedback, prioritize projects, and deliver solutions.
- Help maintain the design system at Thumbtack.
- Explore new frameworks and processes while also being able to discuss when (or when not) to use them.
- Mentor a growing team of engineers on frontend best-practices and standards.
- Participate in a culture that values thoughtful code reviews and frequent deploys
- 4+ years of industry experience in web development.
- A familiarity with React and popular libraries within the React ecosystem.
- You can break down complex problems and understand the tradeoffs necessary to deliver great, impactful products.
- You’re curious, you’re data-driven, you love to ask questions, and you think critically about problems.
- You’re comfortable communicating about your work with both technical and non-technical team members, including fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts.
- You love delivering value to your users and your teammates through your work.
