We're hiring a Senior ERP Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Solutions Team within Ferguson IT, reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Technology. You'll help enhance Trilogie, our custom ERP system, working closely with Business Systems Analysts, Product Owners, and QA Engineers to deliver reliable software across multiple Trilogie functional areas. Trilogie is currently being migrated from Unix to Linux, and you'll be part of that effort.

This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop deep working knowledge of Trilogie's architecture and functionality.
  • Design and build software that automates, improves, or changes business processes.
  • Own projects end-to-end — from planning through implementation — following Ferguson's Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Partner with Business Systems Analysts and Product Owners to clarify requirements and design scalable solutions.
  • Work with the Administration Team to design scalable application environments.
  • Collaborate with third-party software providers to ensure solutions meet Ferguson's needs.
  • Write unit tests, complete peer code reviews, and provide accurate estimates to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, shared-learning environment across peers, team leads, and supervisors.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with UniBasic or another Pick-based language.
  • Experience building interactive screens and phantom processes.
  • Experience integrating applications with APIs / web services.
  • Experience working with Oracle or SQL Server databases.
  • Experience designing dictionaries for multi-valued file systems, and working with multi-level files and triggers.
  • Experience developing in a multi-server, high-transaction environment, including writing and tuning code for performance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to write complex UniQuery statements.
  • Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tooling.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Quality assurance experience.
  • Experience with Unix and Linux.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,805.95 - $11,921.25

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
