Develop and optimize embedded software for memory products, collaborating with hardware teams and supporting the testing solutions engineering process at Micron.
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Summary
Department Introduction:
Micron Technology is a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, focused on transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all! The Systems Integration Group (SIG) designs and builds custom, in-house equipment that enables Micron to achieve advantages in cost, capability, and time to market. The team works across software, electrical, mechanical, and control engineering to deliver innovative solutions for advanced memory manufacturing.
Position Overview:
As an Embedded Software Engineer on the Equipment Software Design team, you will develop software that directly controls custom semiconductor equipment. You will work across the full stack from bare metal to Linux-based systems and collaborate closely with hardware teams to design, debug, and optimize complex systems. This role requires strong hands-on experience with hardware debugging, lab validation, and system-level problem solving.
Successful candidates for this role do more than write embedded code-they can reason about how electronics behave, use lab measurements to validate assumptions, and work side-by-side with electrical engineers to root-cause system issues. If your experience is primarily application software or firmware development without substantial hardware debug, this role is likely not a fit. This role is best suited for engineers who have personally debugged real hardware in the lab; coursework exposure or limited schematic familiarity alone is not enough.
